I spent yesterday with family who live a few hours away. We gathered around the table, rushed through stories, trying to fit months into hours before I had to leave again. This morning, walking these empty streets, I kept thinking about that—how we live in a place so beautiful it stops you in your tracks, and how we’re always trying to hold onto moments with the people we love.

This year I’m grateful for many things, one of them is how my daughters opened my eyes to thrifting. I’ll admit—there was a time you wouldn’t catch me in a secondhand shop. But now? I see how these finds can create something special. A weathered wooden box becomes a centerpiece. Mismatched vintage plates tell their own stories. And when you add pieces made by local artisans right here in Santa Barbara, your table becomes part of our community and craft.

My first quilted jacket made with (s) pattern and the accents like the sleeve and pocket I used fabric. I made with PS500 to put it together. I made some changes to the pattern but overall it was a first try.
