I couldn’t be more proud to be in such a compassionate and strong community with people who show up every day during this time in history for our immigrants. Proud to be VP of . Proud to be an ally of , an ally of . Proud that SB is writing a far different history than the one from the White House. And yes, there are 2 sides and I’m proud to be on the side of love and justice. We sure all felt it together.

Serendipity strikes! As I’m getting my nomination papers to file for re-election, who should walk up but one of my favorite teachers — my U.S. Government teacher Mr van Duinwwyk. He inspired my interest in government service well before my parents ran for office. Thank goodness for teachers! 💛💚

On Friday, hundreds gathered to oppose the Trump Administration’s plans to expand offshore drilling off our coast, thanks to the star power of actor/activist Ted Danson of . My message: it’s all about Congress holding this administration accountable and for that we need more members like who will fight to stop in and fight for our coast. #2026 .vc

One way to put the values of accessibility and comminity into action: put underused government land to work.
Vacant lots, idle buildings, and surface parking lots owned by government agencies and school districts can become HOMES for people who keep Santa Barbara County running instead of sitting empty.
