Pride Month is celebrated in June to honor the Stonewall Uprising of 1969, a pivotal moment in the fight for LGBTQ rights.

What began as a response to discrimination grew into a movement that continues to advocate for dignity, safety, and belonging.

Today, Pride Month is both a celebration of the LGBTQIA+ community and a reminder of the importance of creating spaces where people feel accepted and supported.

Whether you’re attending your first Pride event as an ally or exploring your own identity, Pride Month can be an opportunity to learn, connect, celebrate, and show up for one another.

Arguments don’t usually hurt the most because of what was said. They hurt because of what was missed.

Missed understanding.
Missed reassurance.
Missed connection.

That’s why repair isn’t just about saying “I’m sorry.” It’s about helping your partner feel seen in the way they needed in that moment.

One of the biggest shifts we see in couples therapy is this:
When partners stop trying to prove their point, and start trying to understand each other’s experience, everything changes.

That’s when conversations soften.
That’s when defensiveness lowers.
That’s when connection starts to come back.

There’s a lot more nuance to each of these steps—especially when it comes to what to say, how to say it, and how to stay present when it’s hard. We walk through that more fully on the blog.

If you’re finding these conversations hard to have on your own, you don’t have to figure it out alone. Couples therapy can help you and your partner slow things down, understand each other more clearly, and repair in a way that actually lasts.

You can schedule an appointment with Wasatch Family Therapy and work with Dausha or one of our other couples therapists to start building a stronger, more connected relationship.

Today is Administrative Professionals Day.

Many administrative professionals are the ones who keep things organized, solve problems, answer questions, and help everything keep moving.

Being dependable is a strength. But being the person everyone relies on can also feel draining.

Many people in support roles carry pressure that others do not always see. The need to stay calm, stay available, and stay one step ahead can feel exhausting over time.

This is your reminder that rest is not a luxury. It is an important part of mental health.

You do not have to carry everything to be valuable.
You deserve the same care you give to others.

If stress has been weighing on you, support can help. Contact us to schedule with Tess Larsen or any of our therapists. Tess offers a free first session and reduced rate for ongoing sessions. Same-week appointments are available.
