McNeil Engineering’s Survey team recently supported the Skyline Mine site with drone-based LiDAR survey and stockpile analysis.

Using an RTK-enabled drone equipped with LiDAR sensors, the team captured detailed surface data and created a precise model for volume calculations. This helped improve field safety, reduce disruption, and give mine operators reliable data for tracking material quantities and planning ahead.

Shout out to our very own Michael Hoffman for spearheading this effort!

A great day on the range with even better company.

A big thank you to our team, clients, partners, and friends who joined us yesterday at Wasatch Wing & Clay for our annual trap shoot. We appreciate everyone who took time out of their schedules to spend the morning with us, enjoy some friendly competition, and strengthen the relationships that make our work so rewarding.

Thanks again to everyone who came out. We had a fantastic time and are already looking forward to the next one!

Every site tells a story before anything is built.

Slope, soil, drainage, access. It is all there if you know how to read it.

The better you understand a site early, the better your project performs later.

That is where good engineering begins. Learn more at https://goto.sc/5n24

Concrete is getting a serious upgrade.

New low-carbon mixes are reducing cement content while maintaining compressive strength, and some are even incorporating carbon capture during curing. On top of that, self-healing concrete technologies are starting to address microcracking before it becomes a long-term durability issue.

The result is not just sustainability. It is longer life cycles, fewer repairs, and better performance over time.

Concrete is no longer just a structural material. It is becoming a smarter one.

Survey data is the foundation of accurate design.

Before finalizing plans for construction, make sure boundary lines, elevations, and existing features are properly documented. Reliable survey information reduces design conflicts and keeps projects aligned during construction.

Accuracy early saves time later.
