I wanted to share an exciting opportunity with you! The **2026 Utah Social Studies Teacher Conference** will be held on **Saturday, November 14, 2026, at Butler Middle School**.

This year’s conference, **“Navigating Change: Teaching Social Studies in a Shifting World,”** looks like a great day of learning, connection, and collaboration.

A special highlight for our Driven 2 Teach community is the **Driven 2 Teach Reunion & Preunion** session! This will be a great opportunity for past participants to reconnect and for those interested in participating in Driven 2 Teach in the future to learn more about the experience.

You can also **submit a proposal** if you have a great lesson, strategy, or idea you'd like to share with other social studies teachers. The proposal deadline is **September 30**.

Another incredible year of Driven 2 Teach is in the books! This past weekend, we gathered for our closing meeting to celebrate the end of another successful summer spent expanding Utah teachers’ knowledge and advancing our mission: travel there to teach it here. Across the American West, Driven 2 Teach immersed Utah teachers in the landscapes, stories and communities that shaped the region. Over eight days, they explored Indigenous histories, the fur trade, westward expansion and the Lewis and Clark Expedition through hands-on learning at museums, historic sites and along the Missouri River. At the heart of Driven 2 Teach is a simple purpose: travel there to teach it here. From Bear River to Bluff, Driven 2 Teach took Utah history teachers across the state to experience the people, places and stories that shaped the place they call home. Over nine days, they explored sites tied to Indigenous history, westward expansion, women’s suffrage, immigration, industry and settlement. Driven 2 Teach is back and the first trip of 2026 is happening right now. This past week, our Founding Principles field study is taking educators from Boston to Philadelphia to explore the people, places, and ideas that shaped our nation. It is the same mission that has guided Driven 2 Teach from the beginning: travel there to teach it here. We love seeing this vision in motion again—right now, in real time, through teachers who will bring these experiences back to their classrooms and students.
