You do!? Good. 'Cause we've updated our map for watering based on extreme drought conditions. Please share with your friends, family and neighbors! We need everyone to be 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗲 .

We'll get right to the point. This guide is for 𝘄𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝘃𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲!

Due to the severe drought, we recommend watering 2 times per week in Northern Utah and 3 times a week in Southern Utah to help extend the water supply. The goal during 𝗲𝘅𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲 𝗱𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 isn't lush landscapes but rather survival watering to keep high-value plants alive like trees, shrubs and flowers. 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝘃𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝘀 𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗮𝘀 𝟭 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗵 𝗼𝗳 𝘄𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗮 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵. It won't be green and will enter dormancy during times of drought and high temperatures but will recover when conditions improve.

Most people overwater simply because they don't know how much their landscape really needs. The watering guide below is a GENERAL seasonal guide that provides a "normal" year schedule. We will post weekly updates from the Utah Division of Water Resources that are specific to the weekly need for the current year, so there will be small deviations from this chart through the season. We rarely ask our followers to share our posts-- but this is information every Utah homeowner needs. Will you help get the word out?

White Top, also called Hoary Cress, is every bit as awful as Field Bindweed, aka “Morning Glory”. It colonizes and spreads by both roots and seeds. To get control of it, make sure you never let it go to seed. Even if you’ve opted to spray it with an herbicide, clip the flower stalks off before they have the chance to set seed. It can take a week or two for the herbicide to impact the plants and it’s not worth the risk that the seed will mature.

We’ve seen some watering going on, and we gotta say, we 😭 when we see it. We can’t walk around with eyes closed to avoid it anymore. Believe us, we’ve tried, and we successfully face-planted onto the sidewalk– many times. But, that wasn’t our goal...🤦‍♀️

Although drought continues to linger, you can still !
