Our PTA Read-A-Thon fundraiser reached the $2,000 mark so every student gets a sucker and a bookmark today! Way to Go Sandy Sharks!!

Currently, Ms. Fels's class is in 1st place, Mrs. Simpson's class is in 2nd place, and Mrs. Murphey's class is in 3rd place!!!!

The 3rd place class wins a BREAKFAST PARTY

September is Attendance Awareness Month! We are celebrating with our students and reminding them that EVERY DAY COUNTS. Starting this Monday, Sept. 14th- Don't forget to wear BLUE or something ocean themed. We’ll be handing out stickers, bracelets, PBIS points, and other cool stuff to help students hit their yearly attendance targets. Let's Go, Sandy Elementary! SHARK IT!

Did you know September is National Attendance Awareness Month?
To celebrate this, we are reminding our students that 'EVERY DAY COUNTS' with an Attendance Spirit Week next week:
Monday, Sept. 14th- Dive into Learning (students wear blue or ocean themed)
Tuesday, Sept. 15th- Every Step Counts (students wear silly or colorful socks)
Wednesday, Sept. 16th- Hats Off to GREAT Attendance (students wear their favorite hat because being at school helps our brains grow)
Thursday, Sept. 17th- Show Up and SHINE (students wear bright colors)
Friday, Sept. 18th- Team Up for Attendance (students wear red or their Sandy Shark shirt)

¿Sabían que septiembre es el Mes Nacional de Concientización sobre la Asistencia Escolar?

Para celebrarlo, recordaremos a nuestros alumnos que "CADA DÍA CUENTA" con una Semana del Espíritu Escolar dedicada a la asistencia la próxima semana:
Lunes 14 de septiembre: Sumérgete en el aprendizaje (los alumnos visten de azul o con motivos marinos).
Martes 15 de septiembre: Cada paso cuenta (los alumnos usan calcetines divertidos o coloridos).
Miércoles 16 de septiembre: Nos quitamos el sombrero ante una GRAN asistencia (los alumnos usan su sombrero favorito, porque asistir a la escuela ayuda a que nuestros cerebros crezcan).
Jueves 17 de septiembre: ¡Hazte presente y BRILLA! (los alumnos visten colores vivos).
Viernes 18 de septiembre: Unidos por la asistencia (los alumnos visten de rojo o usan su camiseta de los Sandy Sharks).

We had such a JAW-some time with Mr. Van D**e at our All Pro Dads meeting this morning. Students and Dads learned how reading together can not only build academic skills, but enhance family relationships as well. Thank you all for coming and we will see you at our next meeting on Friday, Nov. 6th at 7:30 am. SHARK IT!!

Lo pasamos de maravilla con el Sr. Van D**e en nuestra reunión de "All Pro Dads" esta mañana. Los estudiantes y los padres aprendieron cómo leer juntos no solo ayuda a desarrollar habilidades académicas, sino que también fortalece los vínculos familiares. ¡Gracias a todos por asistir y nos vemos de nuevo el viernes 6 de noviembre a las 7:30 a. m.! ¡SHARK IT!
