Many Dreams Die While Suffering! I have been in a number of very difficult situations in my life where I have observed and studied many people quit because the mental suffering became too much. All they had to do was last a few more seconds, a few more minutes, a few more hours, maybe a few more courses, to get the very thing they wanted the most. It can be physical suffering, mental, or emotional. It can include anything from a relationship to school and everything in between. There are so many forms of suffering. It’s important that we don’t quit and give up on our dreams when life is coming at us hard and throws us for a loop. In the video, I talk about being afraid of the water. That fear led to uncontrollable suffering which, in turn, made me quit my dream. I was 19 years old when that happened. The only thing that changed between 19 and 24 is that I learned how to manage that fear. In doing so, it allowed me to put in the reps needed to make the suffering I experienced in the water more manageable and stay in the fight longer. The repetition allowed me to think clearly when the moments of panic would start to set in. Clearly, it was in me all along had I only known how to manage my emotions during the moments of suffering and extenuating circumstances being thrown at me. Even when you believe you have prepared yourself for everything, there will always be that one thing- no matter what you are doing- that raises its ugly head and makes you question why you are doing what you are doing. It’s important that we are able to put things in perspective during those moments of uncertainty and panic. You must learn to manage that one second decision and put things back in the proper compartments in your mind to keep yourself in the fight. This is just scratching the surface on one of the many concepts presented in Never Finished. Don’t stop when you are tired, stop when you are done! Stay hard!
