ZIF (Zero Insertion Force) connector repair. If the lever on this device becomes damaged it prevents the pins from making contact with the component. This is a common repair on many ipad models. The connector is often used to secure digitizer or LCD cables.

iPad mini backlight repair. This problem is caused by a drop in voltage from disconnecting the LCD during a repair without first disconnecting the battery. The spike in amperage usually destroys the backlight filter. A small sacrifice by the filter to preserve the other components.

My new microscope helps to reveal classic long screw damage. This happens when the screws that hold the lcd shield down are are place in the incorrect locations. The phone will boot to an apple logo flash a blue screen then repeat this process until the battery is depleted. The traces must be reconnected to resolve this issue.
