Tomorrow, our team is hosting Navigating Autism as a Foster Parent, a complimentary training designed to support foster families and the professionals who walk alongside them.

Foster parents of children with autism often face questions like:
• Is this behavior related to trauma, autism, or both?
• Where do we start when our child is struggling?
• What resources are available, and how do we access them?

Led by Sam Blanco, PhD, BCBA-D, LBA, Chief Clinical Officer and a foster and adoptive parent herself, this session provides practical guidance, actionable strategies, and compassionate support for navigating these unique challenges.

At GBA, we're proud to provide educational opportunities that empower caregivers and professionals with the knowledge and resources needed to help children thrive.

Meet Bella Griffiths, RBT!
“I enjoy working at GBA because I get to encounter so many different people that I get to learn from.
I was inspired to enter this feild due to my own struggles as a neurodivergent child. When I was you ger I wished I had the help that I am able to give others now.
My favorite part of my role is seeing the people I work with learn and grow.
A fun fact I would like to share is that i am a native American / indigenous beadwork artist!”

We’re excited to share that GBA will be a proud sponsor and exhibitor at the Georgia Child Health Conference, taking place June 15–17, 2026, at the Atlanta Evergreen Lakeside Resort!

This impactful annual event brings together healthcare professionals, educators, advocates, families, community organizations, and state partners from across Georgia to collaborate, learn, and advance the health and well-being of children and families.

Stop by our booth to connect with our team, explore valuable resources, and learn how we're working to make a difference in communities across the state. We look forward to meaningful conversations, new partnerships, and an inspiring few days dedicated to supporting Georgia’s children and families. 💜🧡

Meet Rachel Olive, BCBA!

“I enjoy the flexibility that GBA offers me. It allows me to maintain a healthy work-life balance. The structure of working alongside multiple professionals also helps the position run more smoothly.

I started my career as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA). During my in-school speech therapy sessions, I noticed that my learners with autism were not gaining access to language skills at the same rate as their peers. I decided to pursue further education through a local Applied Behavior Analysis program because ABA was considered an evidence-based practice for teaching individuals on the autism spectrum. Within a month, all of my learners were making progress, and one young lady with no functional communication skills began communicating her wants in full sentences using an AAC device. Speech therapy will always hold a special place in my heart, but nothing compares, for me, to the success of hearing that first sentence.

My favorite part of being a BCBA is finding the space where the science of ABA meets the art of application. I have been divinely favored to work with families from many diverse backgrounds. Discovering how to take this science and apply it to learners in unique, meaningful, and practical ways requires a level of creativity that few other sciences can accommodate or encourage.

I play Magic: The Gathering, Pathfinder, and Dungeons & Dragons at a local game store. One of my favorite professional experiences was finding ways to teach social skills in that setting that generalized into everyday life for my teen clients—an experience I hope to one day support through more formalized research.”
