Just a little life update:

I’ll be closing my books to new clients leading up to my wedding in June! I’ll be back behind the chair after our honeymoon in July and business will be back to normal. I can’t wait to see you all then!

I used to do color corrections all the time, and while I love them, they’re definitely a mental workout. I’m usually planning 2–4 steps ahead and staying ready to pivot if things don’t go exactly as expected.

This client came in with a fully lightened back (no dimension) and a darker, dimensional front, with a pink band tying it all together. Our goal? Blend everything and bring the front up to match the back… all in 4 hours (when I would’ve happily taken 5–6 😅).

Moments like this remind me how far I’ve come, how much knowledge and experience I’ve built over the years. Color corrections will always have a special place in my heart. The challenge, the problem-solving, the transformation… it’s why I love what I do. 🎨

Hi everyone!
I am a local hairstylist looking to give back for the holidays. I’ve been at Eclipse Salon for 7 years and now more than ever I can see people are really struggling. With that being said, I’d like to help in the only way I know how. On Wednesday, December 17th, I am opening my books for the day for “pay what you can” haircuts. Whether it’s $0 or $20 it doesn’t matter. Everyone deserves to feel their best, no matter their circumstances. I will be booking by appointment only, that way it can keep it nice and organized. All you need to do is call the salon (815-498-6166) and let them know you’re booking with me on the 17th. I will be open from 10 am to 6 pm. I’d like to do as many as I can so I will be doing dry haircuts, or a shampoo without a blow dry style. This will allow me to do multiple haircuts per hour as oppose to only one. I do men’s cuts, women’s cuts and children’s cuts of all ages. I do not do beard trims unfortunately, but anything else is fair game! Once the appointments are fully scheduled I’ll remove the post, so there isn’t any confusion. I wish there was more I could do, but I have donated haircuts in the past and I’ve seen how much of a difference it really can make. Please spread the word and I hope to see you in my chair.
