Substance use impacts the whole family. While the loved ones of the individual struggling may not suffer from addiction themselves they are an important part of the recovery of the individual who struggles. Come and get the education and support you need from others who have walked in your shoes. We hope you can join us!

PSP Welcomes Nikita to our weekly support meeting! Join us tomorrow, Monday 6/1 @ 6:30 to hear her amazing story!

“My name is Nikita C. I am 41 years old and originally from a small town in New Hampshire, about three hours from where I live today.
For many years, I struggled with trials and tribulations that ultimately led me to develop a powerful addiction to alcohol and other substances. I used them to numb the trauma and pain I had experienced throughout my life. I suffered in silence, afraid that asking for help would make me appear weak instead of the strong, happy, independent, and successful woman I wanted everyone to see.
Four years ago, after the tragic loss of my younger brother, I slowly began to spiral out of control. Little by little, I lost myself and much of what mattered most around me.
On February 5, 2024, I attempted to take my own life. By the grace of a Higher Power, I survived. The very next day, February 6, 2024, I surrendered and made the decision to get help for the first time in my life.
After working through multiple levels of mental health and addiction treatment, my life began to change. Today, I have over two years and four months clean and sober. I have rebuilt my life, restored relationships with my family, and become someone who can positively impact others who are struggling.
What started as a “get well” job has turned into something much more meaningful. Today, I am an Assistant Manager and also run a women's sober house for the same treatment center from which I graduated.
My life looks completely different now. Recovery has given me purpose, hope, and a future. I have learned that if you surrender your will, ask for help, and follow the path laid out before you, recovery will show up for you. It may not happen in the timeframe we want, but if we remain patient and committed, it will happen.
Today, I know that I was worth saving. I was worth the work. I was worth recovery.
Forever grateful.”

PSP welcomes Shannon to tomorrow’s Speaker Meeting! Join us Monday 5/11 at 6:30pm.

My name is Shannon M. I have 11 years clean from all drugs and alcohol. I just celebrated 11 years in recovery on March 7, 2026. I started using drugs at 12 & 13 years old. Caused years of destruction, lost friends due to addiction, lost myself, distanced myself from my family, and caused myself immense trauma. I am now 33 years old, married 7 years, and stay home raising my two boys ages 7 and 1. I participate in Narcotics Anonymous. I have a sponsor, a network, and most importantly a relationship with God today. I have my family and friends back in my life. I also have been a part of Recovering Moms Helping Moms for 7 years and just became a board member after it became a nonprofit organization. I am graduating with my associate’s in human services on May 27th with a plan to continue to help people and give back to my community. I am grateful beyond grateful for my second chance in life.
