"The Divine Descent"
True success isn't about how many people are beneath you, but how many people you have lifted up. This week, we explore the "Descending Ladder" of Philippians 2:5-11. Learn how Christ’s ultimate descent brings us into His thickest presence and transforms us into a bridge for others to find the hope of Christ with us.
Service starts at 10am. Feel free to come and worship with us, bring a friend, and be welcomed as you come through our humble doors!
"And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, that I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your young men shall see visions, your old men shall dream dreams. And on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days; And they shall prophesy. I will show wonders in heaven above and signs in the earth beneath: blood and fire and v***r of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the coming of the great and awesome day of the Lord. And it shall come to pass that whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved."
(Acts 2:17-21, quoting Joel 2:28-32)
In the evangelical Christian Church today, has the cry to be "authentic" overridden the call to live "holy" [set apart, consecrated] lives? Unfortunately, I believe it has. As for me, Lord, may I never forget what you saved me from, and may I always remember what you have saved me for— for Your holy purposes, for Your honor & glory, for fulfilling the great commission: to preach the gospel and make disciples of all nations. May Your kingdom come and Your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Amen.
"For this is the will of God, that by well doing you may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men—as free, yet not using 'liberty' as a cloak for vice, but as bondservants of God."
(1Peter 2:15-16)
"In the world you have tribulation and distress and suffering, but be courageous, be undaunted, be filled with confident joy; I have overcome the world [My conquest is accomplished, My victory abiding]."
(Jesus; John 16:33, amplified new testament)
After washing the disciples feet, Jesus put on His robe again and sat down and asked, “Do you understand what I was doing? You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and you are right, because that’s what I am. And since I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash each other’s feet. I have given you an example to follow. Do as I have done to you. I tell you the truth, slaves are not greater than their master. Nor is the messenger more important than the one who sends the message. Now that you know these things, God will bless you for doing them."
(Jesus; John 13:12-17, nlt)
