Cub Scout Pack 8

Small acts of service can make a big difference. 2026 is the year of service in Scouting America 🇺🇸 Lake Erie Council joins all other Scouting America councils for the Community Impact 365 Challenge to pledge to make this world a better place through a new goal: 250 hours of community service per unit.

While that might seem like a steep goal, thousands of service hours go unreported every month.

All service hours count towards this goal. Eagle Scout projects, school service hours, personal service projects, and even hours of family, friends, and volunteers that support your initiatives count. Each hour reported adds to reaching this goal and making our communities a better place for everyone.

The Scouts and Leaders of Cub Scout Pack 8 and Scouts BSA Troop 8 are attending Scout Sunday Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church. Jesus said you are the Light of the World and you are the Salt of the Earth, so go out in the world; shine and bring flavor in all you do.

The pack also thanks Paul Sowers, a Danbury school board member, for speaking with the Webelos Scouts. This provided them an opportunity to speak with an elected offical and on the election process. Paul enjoyed their discussion and was excited to learn about the involvement in student council activities.

The would like to thank the Salvation Army of Huron Service Unit for coming and speaking with the Arrow of Light scouts about volunteering and learning about a non-profit.

The Cub Scouts and family members were proud to attend the Wreaths Across America ceremony at Ohio Veterans Home. After the ceremony we assisted in placing wreaths. As a wreath was placed, we would read their names to honor their sacrifice and service to America. Thanks to the Lake Erie Shores Blue Star Mothers and other groups that helped raise the funds so that every head stone had a wreath this year. Please drive by the Ohio Veterans Home to see all the wreaths and say a little prayer in their honor.

Pack 8 was at Firelands Scout Reservation had a fun time at Cub Fun Day.

The Scouts of Pack 8 had a great time at their Halloween Party. They made Christmas cards for the Scouting America National Service Project "10,000 for the Troops". Played some games, decorated some cookies and had a contest to turn the leaders into Mummies.

Cub Pack 8 held a join night tonight at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church. The youth made paper airplanes then played a 6 hole airplane putt-putt course.
