As many of you know, this family is grieving the heartbreaking loss of their beloved daughter. During this incredibly difficult time, we would like to surround them with love and support by helping ease some of their daily burdens. Mak, my heart breaks into a million pieces when I heard the news. It’s still hard to accept the unimaginable, especially knowing you had so many great things about you. You could turn serious moments into funny ones. You’re smart, witty, and supported everyone with happiness and cheer.

One of my favorite memories of you is when we were waiting between games. One of the younger Blast teams was getting beaten by quite a bit, and when they scored, you cheered quietly but not quietly enough for me not to notice you. Your cheering wasn’t about being heard it was just because you were happy for them. That has always stuck with me because it showed me exactly what kind of person you are.

You smiled at everything. Whether you were told good job, celebrating teammates, or even getting yelled at, it would just be….Yes, Coach… with a smile.

You will be forever loved and missed by everyone whose life you touched. Thank you for the imprint you left on my life and on all the other people who love you dearly.
