Narrative:
Juneteenth, the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the abolishment slavery in the United States. It marks the day in 1865 when federal troops arrived in Galveston, Texas, to ensure all enslaved people were freed, more than two years after the Emancipation. And to commemorate, the City of Sandusky collectively came together in their annual celebration. These summer concerts are always special, but this one even more so. The evening was gorgeous and full of activities. The performers of the evening was Troubleman: | A Tribute to Marvin Gaye.

The duo of L. Young & C. Starr put on quite the show. They performed over a dozen of Marvin Gaye’s classic hits like; “Sexual Healing”, “Let’s Get it On”, & “What’s Going On” to name a few. “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” was my favorite. The chemistry between this perfect pair was pure electric, and several remarked how dynamic these two were. Young was emphatically charismatic and his wardrobe was as formidable as Gaye himself. Starr was simply divine, with her ravishing looks and an angelic voice to rival Tammi herself. The acommompaniment of musicians were all phenomenal supporting the lead duo. Young tried to close the show, but the crowd simply wouldn’t allow it, so the group graciously gave the crowd one more song to go home with. To top it off, there was an incredible fireworks display put on to close out the show. Another fantastic year, and another fantastic show. And indeed “How sweet it was” to experience the vibe at this rockin show.

"Calm before the Storm" {Sun-Drenched Summers} (Episode 4)
Location: Shoreline Park , 411 E. Water Street, Sandusky, OH 44870
Date: June, Summer 2026

Narrative: Placing your AirPods in your ears, you walk around this beautiful park casting away the cares of the day. Unbeknownst to me, the stillness here would be interrupted by a tornadic storm. But thankfully I was able to capture some memories before it arrived.

"Tempest on the Lake" {Sun-Drenched Summers} (Episode 3)
Location: Shoreline Park , 411 E. Water Street, Sandusky, OH 44870
Date: June, Summer 2026

Narrative: Unpredictable, and unforgettable would be the primary words I use to describe this phenomenon. After a powerful storm comes through the area after the 2pm hour, all seemed well. A few cloudy scenes here or there, but partly cloudy skies departed and made way for some purely gorgeous scenes. After casually walking by capturing some visuals and memories I took a final look over the horizon and saw a storm cell traveling over the lake nearing our beloved water park. I decided to stick around for just a bit longer. I grabbed my camera gear that I just placed in the car, and found myself at the end of the narrow sidewalk at the parks edge. The views were nice, but I was unsatisfied with where I was. So, I decided to continue my travels along the very rocky terrain. Full of large boulders, some which were very loose, I made my way to the end and continued my captures there. A short while later I felt some strong wind gusts, and the waves began to crash violently upon the boulders infront of me. And behold, a tornadic waterspout made its appearance. Beautiful as it was terrifying, it traversed its way trailing the storm cell. Effortlessly gliding its way across the lake I could feel its power from roughy 2 miles away. I have never experienced something quite like this before. Calming, yet disturbing. Ravishing, and horrifying at the same time. I decided not to tempt fate any longer and carefully made my way back along the large boulders wary of any additional spouts that could appear nearby. All thanks to the Eternal Artist for putting his signs and wonders on display yet again, and allowing this photographer to live to tell the tale of the “Tempest on the Lake”

"Peach Peninsula" {Sun-Drenched Summers} (Episode 2)
Location: Cedar Point Amusement Park , 1 Cedar Point Dr., Sandusky, OH 44870
Date: June, Summer 2026

Narrative: Flying meters above the skyline gives you the anxiety driven privilege of some truly "heavenly" views. And the stellar views for today were of the peach hue. Taking a walk along a nearby walkway and I decided to be brave. While I am getting out my favorite aircraft there were plenty of half eaten fish. Most likely courtesy of America's favorite bird having their occasional lunch. Nervously I took off to the chagrin of the local wildlife who remarkably were pretty calm watching from afar. After ascending high above I took a moment to admire the handiwork of the Eternal Artist, and how beautiful our city is. While I am not the biggest fan of the fruit, I am certainly mesmerized by the color of this gorgeous "Peach Peninsula", and the artist who makes it all possible.

Lainey Nation: | A tribute to Lainey Wilson
Wallen Nation: A Morgan Wallen Tribute

Recap:
I am always amazed watching people pool into Jackson Street Pier for a “Party at the Pier”performance. There is such excitement in the air. Up first was “Lainey Nation”, the ultimate tribute to country music sensation Lainey Wilson.
Styled in Lainey Wilson's flamboyant attire, “Lainey Nation" lead vocalist (Caitlin} who has performed with Taylor Swift, Shakira, Ringo Starr, Keith Urban, and more, bedazzled the crowd with charm, charisma, & feminine allure. Like Wilson herself, the trademark cowboy hat was very fashionable and complimented her rose colored heart-shaped sunglasses. The silver country belt buckle on her waist perfectly matched her form fitting country bell bottom attire. As she performed her twists, turns, and sultry moves her voluminous curls stretched endlessly and looked celestial as the sun’s golden rays gently laid upon them. She performed many trademark Lainey Wilson songs but the one that stood out to me was "Wildflowers and Wild Horses". After an invigorating set she eloquently stepped aside, and we were introduced to “Wallen Nation” America's premier touring tribute band dedicated to country superstar Morgan Wallen.
Based out of Nashville Tennessee, “Wallen Nation” channels the raw emotion, southern charm, and high-octane energy that have made Morgan Wallen a household name. Strong and youthful, Morgan Wallen’s frontman (Hampton) made quite the impression. His minimalist attire was quite fitting’s as he looked like a 1 to 1 replica of the artist he paid tribute to. His snapback hat was reminiscent of Morgan himself, and his boots gave the impression of a country boy who enjoyed a simple shot of whiskey. His long sleeve button up fit snuggly and complimented his athletic build. Light on his toes, he effortlessly leaped and glided across the stage all the while perfectly maintaining his balance. And just like one of the boys he “dapped up” and shook hands with all of the young men near the stage. He was also nice enough to take a few photos with some fans. He performed many Morgan songs, my favorite being "Whiskey Glasses".
Both Caitlin & Hampton alternated accompanying guitar play while the other would perform. The supporting cast of electric guitarists and the kick drummer all did a phenomenal job of keeping the whole band harmonious, and in sync. A very nice evening when these two “United Nations” came together to put on an awesome show in a small town named “Sandusky”.

"Lavender Colored Lake" {Sun-Drenched Summers} (Episode 1)
Location: Nickel Plate Beach, 1 Nickel Plate Dr., Huron, OH 44839.
Date: June, Summer 2026

Prints: https://kevinleevisuals.pic-time.com/KLKwRdEhrhKSz

Narrative: After a really warm day in Sandusky I decided to check out the views from Huron. I arrived and quietly surveyed the landscape. In front of me were several groups of young people playing volleyball, and a couple in the shallow end of the lake playing. I could hear their laughter in the distance as I reached for my favorite gear and descended upon the very sandy concrete. As I approached the beach each step began to feel a bit heavier and my shoes began to slip ever so slightly as the sand began to seep into my worn sneakers. After I made my way down to the shore, I took a detour and walked along a stony path full of large flat boulders. The stones had names and expressions carved into them. "ONE LOVE" was one that stood out. After a somewhat vigorous hike along the path swatting mosquitos and dodging the occasional spiderweb, I arrived at an outcropped portion of beach on my left side. I stepped down and admired the beautiful sight I saw from the opposite side of the west pier. A few moments later, and after a quick flight to the lighthouse, I captured some parting evening shots and was on my way home. Ever grateful for the trip to the "Lavender Colored Lake".
