A few years ago, I would have told you that one of the best investments you could make in your business was a great website.

Today, I still believe that.

But I would probably add an important caveat.

A great website only works when it's built on a strong understanding of the people you're trying to attract.

Otherwise it's a little like building a beautiful storefront in the middle of nowhere. It may look amazing, but if nobody is walking by, it's not going to do much for your business.

The same thing happens when your messaging isn't grounded in what your audience actually wants and needs.

Before I spend time refining copy, designing pages, or helping clients clarify their brand strategy, I want to understand how their audience thinks.

What are they searching for?

What are they worried about?

What have they already tried?

What are they hoping will finally work?

Those answers influence everything else.

That's why I created a guide with the AI prompts I use for market research.

They're designed to help you uncover deeper insights about your audience without spending weeks gathering data.

Comment “AI Prompts”and I'll send them over.

A while back when I was meeting with a client, she said something that stopped me in my tracks.

“I was looking at your portfolio and I can see a big difference in the projects you did branding AND website design for. They just stand out and are so much more stunning.”

You know how sometimes you know something, but you wonder if anyone else sees it too? This was one of those times I got confirmation that I’m not alone.

It’s true.

There is an extra spark of magic that happens when clients sign on for the full shabang of both branding and website design.

I believe there are a few reasons for this:

It’s a full strategic process

A website is going to shine more when it is built on a foundation of strategy. My brand process is all about making thoughtful decisions. The end result will shine with extra luster when those decisions aren’t piecemeal or arbitrary, but incorporate the businesses’ message, target market and voice.

A brand is what makes a website unique.

It’s not the flashy animations or the unique features. Those things can actually be confusing and distracting. Branding is what gives you the tools to create visual elements in a signature way.

A website gives a strategic brand a voice.

No other brand asset makes a brand come alive quite like a website. Before a website, a brand is somewhat abstract. A website makes it real.

When I start from scratch, I’m building the brand and website from the ground up. It’s a little like building a new home instead of renovating.

It’s not that I can’t create a beautiful website without doing the client’s brand first. I have done many effective websites this way.

If you need a website and have a valid reason for waiting on the brand, don’t let that stop you. (I’m all for progress over perfection).

However, there is something extra - a bit of extra sparkle - that shows up when both are done together.

And it is so fun to see women step into a new confidence when they have a stunning brand and site that matches their excellence.

It's a big reason why I love what I do.

And I have one spot left in August. Want to talk about taking it?

You don't have to know how to code to have a faster website.

In reality, there are plenty of simple changes that can make a noticeable difference, even if you don't consider yourself tech-savvy.

Today's carousel walks through a few easy ways to improve your site's speed without touching a single line of code.

A faster website creates a better experience for your visitors. It keeps people engaged, makes it easier to navigate your content, and removes little moments of friction that can lead someone to click away.

Small improvements add up.

Swipe through for a few non-technical ways to help your website work a little harder for your business.

As a service-based busienss, you are constantly evolving, but maybe you have realized your brand is frozen in time.

It's a little like handing someone a business card from three years ago.

Technically, the information might still be correct. Your name is the same. The business still exists. The contact information probably works.

But if your services have evolved and you've grown since then, it no longer represents who you are.

I see this all the time with established service providers.

When you first started, you needed something functional. You needed a logo. A website. A few colors. Something you could put out into the world so they could start getting clients and gaining experience.

I do think that's exactly what most people should do.

Early on, action matters more than perfection.

The problem is that so many business owners never revisit those early decisions.

Meanwhile, your business has changed dramatically.

You’ve refined your services. You’ve developed stronger systems. You’ve become more confident in your expertise. You’ve learned who you love working with and who you don't.

You’re operating at a completely different level than when you started.

Yet your branding is still introducing the beginner version of you.

It's a subtle disconnect, but it's one I see often.

Business owners will tell me they feel embarrassed sending people to their website. Or they'll avoid investing in marketing because they know their brand no longer reflects the quality of their work.

If this is you, the issue is your branding belongs to a previous chapter of your business.

That's why I believe branding is less about creating something beautiful and more about creating something strategic.

Your brand should feel like an accurate representation of the business you've built and the direction you're headed. It should be an extension of the experience you seek to provide your ideal clients.

That’s what I help my clients create.

I’ve got one spot left in August for a branding intensive. Ready for your outside to match your inside?

Marketing looks and feels different than it did a couple years ago.

If it seems like your posts are quieter, inquiries are slower, or it takes longer to gain traction with new clients, that’s not your imagination.

The way people decide who to trust and who to buy from has changed, and the businesses who understand that shift are the ones that will thrive moving forward.

For years, marketing experts told us it took seven touchpoints before someone was ready to buy. Then twelve. It was a numbers game.

But now, it’s not about hitting a certain count. It’s about depth.

People are more cautious with their decisions because they’ve been burned by programs that overpromised and underdelivered.

This is where the 7-11-4 framework comes in.

It shows us what it really takes today to earn someone’s trust.

On average, your potential client needs to spend seven hours with your content, have eleven different interactions with your brand, and see you on four different platforms before they’re ready to make a decision.

That’s a lot of exposure, but it reflects the reality of our current marketplace.

People are investing their time to make sure you are who you say you are.

For service providers who are working hard to grow their businesses, this can feel overwhelming.

But here’s the opportunity.

Most people won’t put in the effort to show up consistently with a cohesive brand, create depth through long-form content, and nurture trust across multiple platforms.

This means being intentional.

Choose one space to go deeper, whether that’s a blog, podcast, or YouTube channel.

Make your website the hub where people can connect with you without distraction.

And most importantly, remembering that marketing isn’t about gaming the algorithm.

It’s about people.

When you prioritize real connection and treat every interaction as an opportunity to build trust, the consistency pays off.

If you’re ready for a brand presence that helps you build that trust and turn your marketing into a system that actually works for you, I’d love to help you get there.

Fast doesn't always mean sloppy.

When I first started talking about my VIP Intensives, one of the biggest concerns people had was that a condensed timeline would lead to rushed decisions and an unfinished result.

I understand why people think that.

If you're making decisions on the fly or trying to figure things out as you go, a short timeline will expose every gap in your process.

But if the system is thoughtful and strategic, the opposite is true.

A focused timeline forces us to come in prepared. My 3D Design System gives me a framework for thinking through the big-picture questions before we ever get into design.

We define what makes the business different, the experience it's creating, what clients need to understand, and how those ideas should carry through every part of the brand and website.
That foundation is what allows a project to move with momentum.

Selle Valley Carden School is a great example.

The most important part of this project wasn't choosing colors or deciding where a button should go on the site. It was understanding the environment they're creating for students and how that environment shapes the way children learn.

Their philosophy became the lens we used to make every decision that followed, from the messaging to the imagery to the overall feel of the website.

When those foundational decisions are made first, the design process becomes much more focused. Instead of wondering what the website should say or look like, every choice has something to point back to.

That's why I love the intensive process.

It gives me uninterrupted space to stay immersed in one project from beginning to end, and the result is a website where the messaging, design, and user experience all work together to reflect the brand.

Ready to get your own strategic site up and out there? I have one spot left in August for a website intensive.

Katie had been running her reflexology practice for a few years when we first first talked about her brand.

She was serving clients, yes, but her DIY brand and website weren’t helping her get noticed.

She was ready to take some big swings in her business, and branding was part of that.

Katie joined my branding program and launched a brand she was proud of. But her website didn’t match the new brand she created.

So she asked me to redesign it.

But after talking, she hesitated. It felt like a big investment.

Three months later, she came back and decided to go all in. She was tired of DIYing and banging her head against a wall.

Fast forward to her brand and website launch: Katie doubled her income in the second half of the year, started booking dream clients who found her online, and walked away with a whole new level of confidence in how she showed up in business.

Inside this post, I’m breaking down exactly what made Katie’s transformation possible, and how you can use the same principles in your own business.

Early in my business, I had a client who got stuck during her branding process.

We were trying to choose colors for her brand and she was having a hard time settling on one.

We went through 17 different color palettes and dozens of back and forth emails before we found one that worked.

All I could think was, “There has to be a better way.”

Turns out there is.

Since finding it, picking colors with clients has been a relaxing and fun (yes, I said fun!) process that takes little time or agonizing. The best part is my clients end up with the colors for their brand that fit perfectly.

But I continue to see other service providers caught in the color picking purgatory.

They’ll present four options in a Facebook group and then get 200 different opinions. This leaves them no closer to a final decision than when they started.

That was one of the reasons I decided to create my Brand Your Brilliance Challenge.

I wanted to take the time and indecision out of a few key branding decisions.

I created this event for driven women service providers who got into business through grit and drive. You created your own brand from scratch, and a couple years in are finding that you may have outgrown it.

It doesn’t reflect your excellence anymore.

I want to help you create a brand style that makes your excellence shine.

That's exactly what I help people uncover inside my Brand Your Brilliance Challenge.

This is a three-part training that helps you hone in on your brand style, create the visual inspiration for it (via moodboard) and pick your brand colors.

It's a simple process for creating a visual direction that feels like the current version of your business rather than the version you started with years ago.

Comment BRILLIANCE and I'll send you the challenge.

You’re too good at what you do to be a slave to Instagram.

If you’re an established service provider, you’ve already proven your business works. You’ve got happy clients, solid offers, and a vision for where you want to go next.
But showing up on social every day is starting to feel like a full-time job that doesn’t always pay off.

Here’s the truth no one likes to say out loud: social media is not a long-term growth strategy. It’s a scrolling app, not a sales engine.

You’re building on rented land, competing with dancing reels and cat videos for your audience’s attention.

What you really need is a home base.

A website that works as hard as you do.

A strategic online hub that attracts the right clients, builds credibility, and does the heavy lifting so you’re not stuck chasing likes or wondering what the algorithm is doing.

Maybe you know that already, but you’re not sure what actually makes a website strategic.

It’s more than something pretty. A strategic website guides visitors to take action, builds trust, and positions you as the expert. Every page is designed to move ideal clients toward the next step.

It also gives you complete control over how your business is presented, with space to showcase your services, testimonials, case studies, and brand in a way social media never can.

That’s why I created my VIP Intensive Website Days.

In as little as two weeks, we build a thoughtful, strategic website that positions you as the expert you are, guides clients to action, and becomes the central hub of your marketing.

You’ll walk away with a website that looks polished on the outside and has the strategy underneath to help your business grow.

I have two spots open for August.

Each of my branding projects starts by digging into the business from multiple angles: the vision behind it, the people it's meant to serve, and the experience clients should walk away with.

Those pieces become the foundation for every design decision that comes later in my process.

Ooh La La Lavender Farm technically sells lavender and lavender products. But we wanted every part of the brand and website to communicate something deeper than that.

We leaned into the feeling of slowing down. Time spent outdoors. A slower pace. The kind of moments that stay with you long after you leave the farm.

That vision shaped everything from the color palette and imagery to the messaging and site design. The goal wasn't only to showcase beautiful lavender. It was to create a brand experience that reflected the lifestyle and transformation behind it.

I'm so proud of how this brand came together, and even more excited to see Ooh La La Lavender Farm sharing it with the people they're hoping to reach!

A beautiful website can certainly catch someone's attention and a strategic brand gives them a reason to stay.
