Our World Focus

Our World Focus is excited to share the photography of Sandpoint High School's Cultural Anthropology students at a photography exhibit on Friday May 27th, 5:30 to 7:00 pm at the Columbia Bank's Community Plaza - Come down and check out some great photos! Here are a few that will be on display!

Here are some of the awesome self portraits posted by the OWF students recently! I'm so impressed with the images and effort that the students have put forth! Bravo! (There are so many good ones, I'll be posting more!)

Our World Focus has currently been working with a new sister classroom project this fall - Conor Baranski's Cultural Anthropology classes from North Idaho's Sandpoint High School are partnered with Amy Jacob's Creativity Action Services classes from the La Paz Community School in Guanacaste, Cost Rica! All these students are so amazing and it has really been exciting to watch them connect and share their photographs and personal stories with each other!

Another wonderful day trip I took with some students from the OWF LPOAHS/Bergama English 2 sister class. This time I was escorted to Dikili, a small town on the Aegean Coast! We sipped tea and Turkish coffee in a seaside restaurant, walked along the shore and hiked to Ataturk Botanik Bahcesi, a garden high on a hilltop overlooking the town. It was a great day! Thank you, Ezgi, Makbule, Selcan, Nermin and Bekir!

Here are some photos from a hiking adventure I took with a few of the students from the OWF SHS/Bergama English 1 sister classrooms in Bergama, Turkey. We hiked up from town to the Acropolis, which is about 5km. It's a fascinating archaeological site, that dates back to the 3rd century BC. Thanks Samet, Aybars, Gamze, and Kubra, for such a fun day!

Our World Focus has launched 2 new sister classroom projects! The students from Sandpoint, Idaho and Bergama,Turkey have been busy registering and joining their groups this week. Here are the classes who are participating in the program.
