Having three packing companies, who control 80% of the north American commercial beef market, is an outrageous monopoly. This is so obvious when an $87 million dollar settlement for market manipulation is nothing to them. They prevent ranchers from making any money and cutting into the packer's margins. As a response, ranchers reduce their herd sizes, forcing prices up further for years.

We still have cuts available, but time is running out. Cuts are 1/4, 1/2 or a whole animal. We plan to fill our final 2025 cuts orders over the next 10 days and that will be the end of our production year.

Our grass has been awesome, so our animals are running well above our annual averages.

White-tailed deer in north Idaho’s Boundary County tests positive for chronic wasting disease Idaho Fish and Game recently received test results confirming a positive case of chronic wasting disease in an adult female white-tailed deer found dead roughly 3 miles outside of Bonners Ferry in hunting Unit 1.

Many of our customers who reserve their ground beef have picked up their orders and we will have additional ground beef available this year. (Yes, this rarely happens!)

As of Friday (7/19), anyone wishing to purchase our Selkirk Ranch Ground Beef may do so. It is available in 1.5lb tubes. Simply email or PM us and tell us how much you would like (21lb minimum and order size must be evenly divisible by 1.5). Heart, tongue, oxtail and Liver are also available.

We will be available for pickups on Saturday, 7/20 or next week.

PS. All cuts orders are sold out until next year. Pick up at the ranch is required, no delivery or shipping.

Pricing Quarters, halves and wholes are available on a first-come, first served basis when accepted after our Annual Availability email in or around May. Sometimes we will not offer whole beef in order to serve the largest number of our customers.
