The Dougherty Station Library serves the needs of San Ramon's growing population. Library collections focus on the needs of children, teens, and adults.

The 11,600 square feet building is designed to incorporate new technology and efficient service. The library includes unique seating areas for young people and families, a community room for library programs, study rooms, computer lab, free wireless Internet access and 44 computers for public use. Dougherty Station is a popular destination for the community's many young families and teens. Programs for children, teens, and adults are provided with the support of San Ramon Library Foundation.

In this program, students in grades 1 to 5 grade are given the opportunity to read to a Therapy Dog for 15 minutes. Reading with dogs is a great way for children to practice their reading skills in a quiet, comfortable, and non-judgmental environment. Therapy Dogs are great listeners!

Tale of the Dragon's Tail presented by Puppet Art Theater

Princess Penny is happy to be home from her world travels, until she discovers there are problems in the kingdom. A dragon has been spotted in the hills above the castle, and her father, the King, has been giving all of the kingdom’s gold to a wizard who claims he can keep the dragon away. Penny suspects something fishy. Will Penny get to the bottom of the mystery? Is there really a dragon? Find out in “Tale of the Dragon’s Tail!” from Puppet Art Theater at the Dougherty Station Library.

Fur, Scales & Tails

Join us for some furry fun and scaly surprises as Tracy Hill brings a menagerie of animal stars to the Dougherty Station Library! Animal lovers will meet a variety of animals, from chickens and rabbits to spiders and snakes. Some of the animals will even perform a trick or two.

This Saturday (May 9th) is our monthly STEAM Saturday from 10:30am to 12pm at the Dougherty Station Library.

On STEAM Saturdays (the 2nd Saturday of each month), kids ages 3 to 12 are invited to explore STEAM learning focused activity stations and experiment with engineering, building, and coding toys.

No registration required.
