The Space Cookies, GS NorCal's FIRST Robotics Competition team, will be holding information sessions/hands-on workshops for girls interested in joining. The workshops are August 15 and 16 at NASA Ames Research Center in Mountain View. We are a Senior/Ambassador troop of 54 girls. Girl Scouts in Scrubs: Nuclear Medicine & Patient Care - ONLY 26 Spots left

Step into the world of healthcare and discover what it’s like to work behind the scenes in a hospital setting! Girl Scouts in Scrubs is an interactive, hands-on program designed to introduce Girl Scouts to the exciting field of nuclear medicine and patient care.
Activity locationKaiser Permanente School of Allied Health Science | Richmond, CA
Participants will rotate through engaging workshops led by experienced professionals from Kaiser Permanente School of Allied Health Sciences:

•Phlebotomy Lab: Scouts will be able to palpate veins on each other with guidance using tourniquets and observe a phlebotomy demonstration on a mannequin.
•Blood Pressure Workshop: Hands-on practice learning how blood pressure is measured and why it is important in-patient care.
•Nuclear Medicine Lab: An introduction to nuclear medicine devices and cameras.
•Patient Transportation Workshop: Learn about safe patient movement and the important role of transport in healthcare settings.
•Radiation Detection Lab: A demonstration of radiation detection equipment and how it is used safely in medical environments. This will be in the form of a scavenger hunt for safe radioactive sources.
