Please join us in congratulating Captain Tami Williams on her new role as Administrative Services Captain with the San Ramon Police Department! 👏

Captain Williams brings 28 years of law enforcement experience to the position. She began her career with the Daly City Police Department, where she served in a variety of assignments including Patrol, School Resource Officer, and K9 Handler.

Since joining the San Ramon Police Department in 2012, Captain Williams has held numerous leadership and operational roles, including Patrol, School Resource Officer, Internal Affairs/Training Sergeant, Operations Lieutenant, Patrol Lieutenant, and Investigations Lieutenant.

She holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice Management and a Master of Science in Law Enforcement/Public Safety Leadership from the University of San Diego. In 2023, she also completed the POST Command College program. In addition to her leadership experience, Captain Williams served more than 15 years as a Crisis Negotiator.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family and traveling.

We are excited to see Captain Williams continue serving the San Ramon community in this new leadership role.

Congratulations to Officer Akacsos, who was honored last night at the Red, Blue & Gold Awards Banquet as one of the Tri-Valley’s law enforcement officers of the year. 👏

Selected by his peers for his hard work, dedication, and commitment to serving the San Ramon community and the students at California High School, Officer Akacsos represents the very best of SRPD.

Join us in congratulating Shasta, our therapy K9, on completing her training through the National Institute of Canine Service and Training 💛
 
Through the First Response K9 Program, Shasta’s journey began as a rescue from the Merced County Animal Shelter. She then spent 9 months in the Paws on a Mission Inmate Training Program, where she built the skills that now help her support others every day.
 
Trained in deep pressure therapy and always ready to lend a paw, Shasta is here to provide comfort, connection, and a little extra kindness when it’s needed most.

A big congratulations as well to her handler, Valerie Powell, for completing the training alongside her and for the care and commitment she brings to this role every day.
