So….this happened last night to my daughter…I feel like I need to share this with others. (If you want to pass it along do so without her name). Around 1am she was ready to leave Meenar but her friends wanted to stay later so she called an uber. She went outside and checked every letter/number on the license plate when the uber arrived (the car/model/driver was the same on her app)… she noticed the first letter was different on the license plate compared to what it said on her app. She questioned him and said, I’m not getting in your car, your license plate does not match what I have here. He got out of the car and said, Oh-it was probably just an error. She said, she was not getting in his car. Then a couple came up to her and said, Oh, honey…it’s fine…that happens all the time, just get in the car. She refused. Her friend happened to walk out as she saw this interaction. The woman tried to reassure her friend that she was getting in the car and going home and that it was fine that it didn’t match as that’s happened to them before. Her friend said….my dad is a cop and we are cancelling this ride and she is coming with me. The minute she said that, the couple ran off, got in a black car and drove away and the uber driver did the same. Evidently there is a s*x trafficking ring and the last 3 weeks it has been casing Elliots and Meenar. They alerted Uber and filed a report. Moral of the story for ALL of us….check each letter/number of the license plate before getting in any uber.

I know lots of college kids coming home…
