A few highlights from another great Tuesday with the Danville San Ramon Rotary Club! 💙💛

We loved celebrating our September Student of the Month, Adheesh Shetty from California High School in San Ramon! 🎉 Congratulations, Adheesh!

We also welcomed Gary Alpert, President of the San Ramon Valley Education Foundation, as our featured speaker. Gary shared more about the Foundation’s work supporting education, parent organizations, and students throughout the San Ramon Valley Unified School District.

Add in updates on upcoming service projects, fellowship, a little Rotary fun, and our always-popular Marble Pull – and it was another full meeting!

Thanks to everyone who joined us and continues to help us create lasting impact in our community and beyond.

🛠️ Another productive day of service!

Our Danville San Ramon Rotary members were back at work on our Bounty Garden Build Project, helping complete the remaining sections of the planter bed enclosures.

The Bounty Garden is a local nonprofit that grows and donates fresh organic produce for Contra Costa County food banks. To date, they’ve donated more than 30,000 pounds of fresh vegetables to local families experiencing food insecurity. 💚🥬

Working across three stations, our crew completed 38 sections – including 5 sides, 5 tops and 28 windows! 👏

Thank you to Erik Yewell, Jose Barron, Hermann Welm, Peter Thorson, Minoo Mama, Dennis Harvey, Gianella Valdivia and Allen Mueller for rolling up their sleeves and helping!

A special thank you to Hermann for helping lead this project and for putting in many extra hours working on pieces from home.

We also loved having Gianella (Gia) Valdivia from the Alpha Gamma Sigma Honor Society at Diablo Valley College join us! Gia jumped right in, took control of one of the work stations and helped us get all of the remaining pieces completed. 🔨💪

This is what service looks like – people coming together, sharing their time and talents, and supporting organizations doing important work right here in our community. 💙

What a great afternoon of service!

13 Danville San Ramon Rotarians and one awesome student from SRVHS Interact came together at the Contra Costa & Solano Food Bank’s Concord Warehouse to lend a hand.

In just 90 minutes, our group packed enough bags of carrots to distribute to 866 people facing food insecurity in our community. That’s what we call impact! 👏

We also loved having our newest member, Elaine Wong Eakin, join us on her very first official day as a Rotarian! Elaine jumped right in and checked off two Blue Badge requirements – community service and fellowship. What a way to get started! 🎉

These are the days that remind us what Rotary is all about – serving together, connecting with one another and making a difference right here in our community.
