Another inspiring Tuesday at Danville San Ramon Rotary! 🌟

This week's meeting featured meaningful updates, recognition, and an incredible program focused on innovation and hope.

We heard from Gopal Kapur, who shared an update on the Light1Candle project supporting students in India and received the club's international grant support. We also celebrated our recent Art & Wind Festival success and recognized several members with Paul Harris Awards.

Our featured speaker, Marguerite Casillas of the California Institute for Regenerative Medicine (CIRM), provided a fascinating look at how stem cell, cell, and gene therapy research is advancing across California. As someone living with multiple sclerosis, Marguerite brought both professional expertise and personal perspective to the conversation, sharing how research and clinical trials are creating new possibilities for patients and families.

We were honored to welcome Rotary Peace Fellow Scott Martin, who shared his inspiring journey and the work he is doing to promote peace and understanding around the world through education, dialogue, and action.

We also heard from Traci Perry, District Peace Chair, who led us in a thoughtful message about creating stronger, more connected communities through service and leadership.

One of the things so many of our members love about Rotary is the opportunity to learn from incredible people who are making a difference both locally and globally. Every meeting leaves us inspired, informed, and grateful to be part of this community.

What an incredible weekend at the San Ramon Art & Wind Festival! 🎪🌬️🍷

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who stopped by the Danville San Ramon Rotary booth to say hello, grab a drink, support our fundraiser, and spend time with our amazing Rotary members and volunteers. 💙

From setup to cleanup, this weekend was filled with teamwork, community connection, lots of laughs, and a shared commitment to giving back. Events like this help support programs including Student of the Month, Interact, youth leadership, scholarships, and other important community initiatives we’re proud to be part of.
