One of the ways we live out Love Local is by showing up for the people and places that make our community special.
On Sunday, October 11, Eastown will be back at the San Ramon Run for Education, supporting our local schools and celebrating the teachers, staff, students, and families who make such an impact in our community.
We’ll be offering face painting, temporary hair color, and temporary tattoos, and creating a fun place to connect with families throughout the day. Come serve with us as we get to know our community!

Author and Pastor John Mark Comer says a disciple is someone who is learning to be with Jesus, become like Jesus, and do what Jesus does.
It doesn't happen by accident, and it starts with being present with God. But for most of us, we don't just decide to be more present. It takes the rearranging of some things in our lives.
Research is showing that each of us is being discipled, or taught, by our screens an average of 49 hours a week.
So how do we intentionally cut back on our time being formed by our screens to create more space to be formed by Jesus?
In his new book, Carey Nieuwhof offers some practical starting points: unfollow outrage, replace consumption with creation, get outside.
These aren't rules. They're small ways to reclaim your attention and your life!
Is technology bad? Maybe that’s not quite the right question to ask.
A better one might be: what is it doing to us?
Because we weren’t created to just consume information and respond to whatever asks for our attention next. We were made for so much more than that: to be present. To think deeply. To rest. To live with purpose.
So here’s a gentle invitation: what’s one moment today where you could put it down and just be fully there?

We live in a digital world. Technology connects, informs, and entertains us, but it can also leave us distracted, anxious, and divided. We’re even turning to it for things like truth, wisdom, and community; things it was never meant to replace.
“How to Be Human” explores how to navigate this world without rejecting the tech that serves us well. Because the goal isn’t just to use technology wisely, but to become people shaped by the wisdom of Jesus.

25 years.
Today we remember those whose lives were taken too soon, those who were left with great pain and loss, and those who rushed into the danger to rescue.
We pray for those who still hold grief and whose hearts remain heavy. We hold to the hope and comfort of Jesus today and the promise that one day there will be no more pain and suffering.
We also pray that as a nation we will continue to be people who experience empathy and move towards those who are hurting. 🤍
