The What About Age Initiative tackles age-based stereotypes through art.

Originally created at NYU, the exhibit uses striking graphic panels that blend modern design with real-world facts to challenge how we think about aging.

What a day! Big thanks to marin transit and the Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit for sponsoring 2 amazing field trips today out of Downtown San Rafael!

Participants had two great options - hop on a Marin Transit bus to the AIM Farmers Markets at the Marin Civic Center , or ride the SMART Train to Marin Country Mart . Either way, it was a chance to explore our community, discover two amazing local spots, and experience public transit with some friendly guidance along the way.

Public transportation is more accessible than people think, and days like this prove it. We love seeing our community get out, explore, and connect!

A big thanks to Sparkie Spaeth from Marin Villages and their volunteers and Joan Clemmons from Commision on Aging for their support.

What's the opposite of isolation? Connection & community - and we felt every bit of it yesterday at our Tea and Dance Party!

The room was full of warmth, laughter, and some truly incredible performances by members of the Marin Harmony Group. Watching everyone come together for fun, good food and wonderful company, was heart warming.

A big thank you to every single person who joined us, and to the Osher Marin JCC for opening their doors and making it all possible. Shout out to Classic Culinaire Catering Service for their delicious sandwiches and sweet treats.

We can't wait to do it again. Tag someone who was there! Post your pictures from the event and tag us. 👇

Last Friday, we asked a question that doesn't get asked enough: what does it really mean to feel connected? A room of people showed up and so did the conversation.

We're so grateful to our four incredible panelists for sharing their insights, their experience, and their genuine passion for keeping our community connected:
🎤 Kaushik Roy — CEO, Vivalon
🎤 John Power — Executive Director, Marin Villages
🎤 Barbara Brown — Executive Director, LITA (Love is the Answer) of Marin
🎤 Sara Robinson — Chair, Age and Disability Friendly Marin; Principal, Waypoints Strategies

Thank you Osher Marin JCC for hosting us.

You can have a packed calendar and still feel completely alone. Being busy isn't the same as being connected and this conversation reminded us why that distinction matters so much.

The community connection doesn't doesn't stop here. Join us for our Tea and Dance Party on May 14. Get tickets here bit.ly/4c8o6mq

Our panel discussion on Connection & Community is happening tomorrow and we'd love for you to be part of the conversation.

Afterall, it's not "how busy are you?" It's "do you feel genuinely connected to others?"

Social isolation is one of the biggest challenges facing older adults today, but in Marin, local organizations are offering programs, outreach, and community initiatives that bring people together. Join our panelists for an honest, hopeful conversation, and learn how to connect with neighbors, access local resources, and foster belonging for yourself or someone you love.

Last chance reminder! The Marin Transportation Fair is TOMORROW and it's completely free!

If you or someone you love is an older adult or person with a disability, this is the event to be at. Come connect with local transportation providers, sign up for programs that make getting around easier, and even join guided field trips on transit.
