A while back I was reconnecting with the Herb Alpert Presents Sergio Mendes & Brasil '66 debut album and obsessing on the Henry Mancini penned "Lujon". I decided to join Lujon to the version of "Slow Hot Wind" that I heard from Sergio Mendes.
The music starts about a minute in . The group of singers was an offshoot on my main band , The Slippery Slope . 3, sometimes 4 ladies working the harmonies that I named "The Brill Belles" after the famous Manhattan building.

When I was a young punk rocker turning on to Sergio Mendes & Brasil '66 I was mostly laughed at by my peers. It would take a while before I would get to a point where I would start The Slippery Slope so I could do the music that was moving me so. Much of this started with Sergio Mendes and for this I am eternally grateful. Mendes has lived long and well. He will live forever.

The Slippery Slope's final incarnation disbanded in 2015. That is now going on 8 years since our last time on stage or in the studio:
I am looking for players! A drummer, a pianist and upright bassist who get Easy Listening, Brazilian, Exotica Swing and psychedelic influence on many forms of popular music (not just rock) .
We started out in Oakland and once again we are going to be OAKLAND BASED.

The Dionne Warwick team up with Burt Bacharach was at the heart of The Slippery Slope from the very beginning. Burt Bacharach was certainly one of my musical heroes and while I am sad he is now dead I am grateful he had a long and fruitful life.

Here’s the Players receiving gold discs from Mercury Records > right to left we got: Satch, Sugar, Billy, Rock, Chet, Merv, Diamond, P*e Wee in attendance. Some of these brothers are not here to celebrate a new year with us, all the more reason to come and watch the band play this year, because one thing that never left and never will is the music. the last active incarnation of The Slippery Slope ended in 2015. We never finished a recording. Yes , there are recordings available, but none of them are finished. This was my last earnest attempt to finish the recordings with Miriam Speyer singing.
The Slippery Slope Archive The Slippery Slope Replica - Lonely Planet Drum Reference_160430 The band broke up. I went into the studio in attempt to salvage the songs in 2016.
