Marin Ballet is excited to announce that we have been recognized by the Marin Cultural Association as one of their 2026 Arts Grants awardees, along with 25 other Marin County artists and arts organizations! 💛

MCA says, “MCA is proud to support the artists and arts organizations that help make Marin vibrant, connected, and inclusive. The arts play an essential role in our community, and MCA is committed to celebrating creativity and expanding access to the arts across Marin.” With support from the California Arts Council, these grants help foster creativity, connection, and access to the arts throughout Marin.

We are grateful to have received this Arts Grant for 2026 – thank you to and – and congratulations to all the 2026 awardees!🌟

This sweet video gives a little glimpse into the joy, creativity, and fun little dancers experience here at Marin Ballet! ✨

If you have a little dancer at home, sign them up for our ongoing classes or join the fun with our Wee Dance Together summer sessions designed for children ages 18 months–3 years accompanied with a parent or caregiver! 🩰✨ Through music, songs, games, storytelling, and creative movement, children are introduced to the joy of dance in a nurturing environment.

Together, you’ll explore early ballet steps like pliés, tiny leaps, and twirls while building confidence, coordination, and imagination.

🔥 Summer Intensives spots are filling up! 🔥

Join Marin Ballet’s Summer Intensive Program for an inspiring summer of growth, artistry, and training alongside renowned guest teachers and Marin Ballet faculty.

Students begin each day with a 1-hour 45-minute ballet technique class designed to strengthen and refine their training. Depending on placement level, students may also study:
🩰 Pointe Work
🎭 Variations & Classical Repertoire
🌟 Contemporary
💪 Conditioning & Pilates
🎶 Musical Theater Repertoire
👦 Boys’ Class
🎬 Ballet Pantomime & more

📅 Program Dates:
• Levels 5–9 begin July 6
• Levels 3 & 4 begin July 13
• Final Summer Presentation: July 30

✨ Additional summer experiences include:
• Guest speakers on injury prevention for dancers
• “Ballet Buddies” mentoring sessions
• Our 5th Annual Summer Presentation in the studio theater

Summer is also the BEST time for dancers interested in joining the cast of our beloved Nutcracker production!

Ideal age ranges:
Levels 3 & 4: Ages 9–11
Levels 5 & 6: Ages 11–13
Levels 7–9: Ages 13–19

Placement is determined through an individual placement class prior to the intensive start date.

✨ We are thrilled to welcome Peter Brandenhoff to the Marin Ballet Faculty! ✨

Former soloist with San Francisco Ballet and internationally recognized ballet teacher and scholar, Peter Brandenhoff will begin teaching Intermediate/Advanced Ballet in our Open Adult Division on Tuesdays beginning May 26 from 9:30–11:00 AM.

Trained at the Royal Danish Ballet School, Peter is widely respected for his mastery of the Bournonville technique and style. His distinguished performing career includes San Francisco Ballet, Royal Danish Ballet, Hamburg Ballet, and appearances at galas and festivals across five continents.

Known for his musicality, precision, and expressive artistry, Peter now dedicates his work to teaching and scholarship, bringing dancers a rich understanding of ballet as both a living art form and historical tradition.

We are honored to have him join our faculty and excited for our dancers to learn from his extraordinary experience and knowledge. 🩰

Peter Brandenhoff

Ballet Teacher, Scholar, and Former Soloist

Peter Brandenhoff is an internationally recognized ballet teacher and scholar, widely respected for his expertise in the Bournonville technique and style, which he mastered during his training at the Royal Danish Ballet School. A former soloist with San Francisco Ballet, Brandenhoff enjoyed a distinguished stage career that also included engagements with the Royal Danish Ballet and Hamburg Ballet, as well as guest appearances at galas and festivals across five continents. Known for his technical precision and expressive depth, he earned acclaim for both his classical interpretations and his contemporary work.

Now retired from performing, Brandenhoff has dedicated himself fully to teaching and research. His pedagogy is deeply rooted in the Bournonville tradition, emphasizing style, rigor, musicality, and historical understanding, while encouraging each dancer’s individual artistry. As a dance scholar, he integrates his research into his teaching and technique, enriching students’ appreciation of ballet as both a living art form and a historical practice.

His writings on technique and performance have appeared in Dance Magazine, DanceStudioLife, Canteen, and Dance Spirit.
