Released today, the new album by Julianna Zarzycki. Some of you may have sung her song Leave The Rushing at my Song Village song circle 3 years ago when she was with us. (h/t to Lyndsey Scott for introducing me to Julianna's music) Highly, highly recommended -- see Comments below for the Bandcamp link.
I've just returned from Song Village -- 200+ wonderful humans singing and camping together for 4 days in the Santa Cruz Mountains -- and as always, all kinds of wonderful unplanned and unexpected things happen, like this spontaneous jam with the amazing Uma on the solo!
Stay tuned for a full Song Village report in the next (~monthly) SingWithMarv Newsletter. (**See Comments below for link to subscribe -- free!**)

Joyful Voices Chorus -- Spring '26 Season -- San Anselmo Joyful Voices Chorus in San Anselmo: Come Co-Create the Magic!

A deeply moving and connecting “field trip” today by members of our Joyful Voices Chorus community choir to ‘Etcha Tamal — the first land in our community that has been rematriated into Coast Miwok hands.
Our host, tribal elder Sky Road Webb, kindled the ceremonial fire by hand, taught us Coast Miwok songs, demonstrated how to launch an atlatl, and talked about the tribal council’s plans for the land. And, we sang Laurence Cole’s song, Humbly, while walking around the ceremonial circle — land on which the Coast Miwok people have lived for 10,000 years.
To support our Coast Miwok kin’s work on the land, and to hear Laurence's song, see Comments below.

Stay tuned for a report on our Joyful Voices Chorus community choir's first-ever field trip to the 26 acres of land in 'Etcha Tamal (aka Nicasio) rematriated into Coast Miwok hands for the first time in Marin County's history!
We continue to express our deep gratitude to our Coast Miwok kin that we sing on unceded Coast Miwok land and we benefit from their displacement. And we continue to help heal -- through our words, our relationships with Coast Miwok kin, and our financial contributions -- the continuing harms done to indigenous peoples through colonization and so many other heinous acts.
