Residents recently took on a very important mission: preparing snacks for our feathered friends! π¦π₯
As they spent time unshelling peanuts, the conversation turned into a fun debate... do birds prefer peanuts in the shell or out of the shell? Everyone had their own theory, so we decided to put it to the test!
The peanuts are ready, the birds have their choices, and now we're waiting to see which option is the favorite.
What do you think? π§

Residents recently put their creativity to work during a jewelry-making activity, creating beautiful handmade bracelets for loved ones. π
For Sue, the project was especially meaningful. She carefully designed a bracelet for her granddaughter and couldn't wait to show it off. Seeing the excitement on her face as she talked about gifting it made the activity even more special.
Sometimes the smallest creations carry the biggest love. π₯°β¨

πΆπ We may have found the perfect recipe for a great afternoon: live music, smiling residents, and a talented local musician! Selena stopped by to share her incredible voice, and before long there were plenty of toe taps, sing-alongs, and happy faces all around. It's amazing how a little live music can lift spirits, spark connection, and turn an ordinary day into something memorable.
A big thank-you to Selena for bringing so much joy and energy to our residents! π΅β¨

The Aloha vibes were strong at AlmaVia of San Rafael. πΊβ¨πΈβ¨πΊ
Residents got crafty making their own beautiful leis using fun, easy-to-assemble spongy materials. But before they started stringing, they learned about the rich history and cultural significance of leis in Hawaiian tradition. It was fascinating to discover how these beautiful garlands have been used for centuries to celebrate, honor, and show love. πποΈ
Crafts like this are wonderful for older adults. Stringing materials together encourages fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination, while the repetitive motion can be calming and meditative. Learning about the history behind what they're creating adds an educational element that sparks great conversation and keeps minds engaged.
