OMG!!! I got admitted to the Master of Music in Screen Scoring at USC!

Some of you already heard the rumor and it’s true! A childhood dream became reality and I will be diving into the amazing world of screen scoring right in the heart of Hollywood! It’s going to be a mind-boggling adventure that’s going to change my life - I am beyond stoked!

Thank you soooo much for selecting me to be part of this amazing program!!!

And thanks to all the people along the way who supported and educated me:

- My friend - thank you so much for all your encouragement and support!
- for hosting the amazing GEMS film scoring summer program that provided me with the craft, wisdom and spirit to succeed on this life path (there are still spots for this year’s summer session 😉)
- The wonderful instructors at Berklee Online who opened my musical horizons: Ben Newhouse, , and Neil Diercks
- Jim Stopher, amazing conductor at the College of Marin Symphony Orchestra for tolerating me playing violin 😁
- , fabulous violin teacher and fantastic session violinist for patiently instructing me in wizardry for the past 5 years
- for a wonderful recording experience on the main portfolio piece of my USC application
- .fm for all your guidance and advice during the application process, you rock!!!
- The countless collaborators and session musicians helping me with making my musical projects shine
- And above all my wonderful wife for believing in me and taking the plunge to LA with me!

See y’all in LA in August!!

My first time at the SCL Awards! It’s been amazing to actually be physically part of this community for a moment in time. All the nominees and winners are just fantastic musical craftsmen/women and almost all of them were actually there to receive their trophies in person.

Let me point out my favorite though, The Wild Robot. Not only was this the only score nominated this year that truly blew me away, but also gave the most inspirational acceptance speech. He mentioned how he got into the film scoring game late and how it was mentorship and support that made him truly excel. Something to take to heart for all of us aspiring film composers!
