☀️ It’s sweet summertime with Project LIGHT!
Summer is a beautiful season to slow down, intentionalize our time, and build deeper connections with our kids. Together, we can create safer communities for children—starting right at home.
Here are a few simple, phone-free ideas for your family this week:
🍳 Kids' Dinner Night: Let the kids take the reins! Let them plan, prep, and prepare a meal for the family.
🧩 The Table Puzzle: Keep a working puzzle out on the table. Before you grab your phone to scroll, grab your child and work on a section together.
🎬 Summer Movie Fun: Head over to the for a budget-friendly movie night! Catch Gabby's Dollhouse or Kung Fu Panda 4 for just $2 a person.
Together, we can create safer communities for children.
Small moments of connection build a strong foundation of safety and trust. What are your favorite summer family traditions?

💬 It’s Teen Talk Tuesday with Project LIGHT!
Confidence doesn’t come from likes, streaks, or followers.
Real confidence grows when you learn who you are away from the screen.
Here are 5 ways teens can build confidence offline:
1. Try Something You’re Not Great At
Confidence grows when you keep showing up — not when you’re perfect. Join a club, learn a skill, try a sport, volunteer, or create something new.
2. Spend Time With People Who Build You Up
The people around you matter. Healthy friendships encourage you, respect your boundaries, and make you feel safe being yourself.
3. Put the Phone Down for Small Moments
Go on a walk. Listen to music. Journal. Shoot basketball. Draw. Bake. Even short breaks from screens help your brain reconnect with real life.
4. Celebrate Small Wins
Confidence is built in tiny moments:
Trying again after failing
Saying “no” to peer pressure
Being kind to someone else
5. Remember: You Don’t Need to “Go Viral” to Matter
Your value isn’t measured by views or followers.
Who you are offline matters more than who people think you are online.
Teen Talk Tuesday Challenge:
This week, spend 30 minutes doing something offline that makes you feel strong, calm, or creative.

A huge thank you to Mt. Moriah Evangelical Church in China Grove for having us! 💙 We truly appreciated the opportunity to share and connect during your Lunch and Learn this past Sunday.
Every presentation is a step toward a safer community. Each time we come together to raise awareness, we strengthen the prevention of human trafficking.

☀️ It’s sweet summertime with Project LIGHT!
Each week this summer, we’ll be sharing free and low-cost family activities that help create connection, build memories, and keep children safe.
We also want to help families, churches, businesses, and community groups learn more about protecting children from exploitation and online dangers.
If your organization would like training, resources, or a conversation about child safety, we would love to connect with you.
Together, we can create safer communities for children.

Predators don’t need access to your child’s school.
They just need access to their phone.
Summer break often means:
More gaming
More social media
More private messaging
More unsupervised time online

History was unveiled in Rowan County today. 🇺🇸
Project LIGHT was honored to attend the Charters of Freedom Dedication Ceremony at the Rowan Community Center, where full-sized replicas of the Declaration of Independence, U.S. Constitution, Bill of Rights, and Civil Rights Amendments are now permanently installed for public viewing.
It was a powerful reminder that freedom, dignity, justice, and protection are more than words on historic documents — they are values we are called to live out in our community today.
As Rowan County takes part in the America 250 celebration, this permanent installation will give our community a place to learn from these historic documents and reflect on the freedoms and responsibilities they represent.
We’re grateful for moments like this that bring our community together and remind us of what is worth protecting. 💙🇺🇸
