It is with a heavy heart that I report that Gary Deaton - Past Post Commander at Post 694 and Past President of American Legion Riders Chapter 694 - has transitioned to Post Everlasting as of September 21, 2025. Gary was a US Army veteran, having served as a door gunner in Vietnam.

Details of his funeral are still being worked out, and I will keep everyone in the loop as they progress. Please keep Gary's family in your prayers as they deal with their loss.
