🎉 Happy 100th birthday, Marguerite! Holiday Willow Groveve] celebrated a remarkable milestone for Marguerite, whose life story spans continents and now a century.

Born in Panama, Marguerite went on to build a career as a purchasing agent for United Aircraft, where she led a team of 30 people. Her advice for leaders is simple: “Listen to people.”

Today, Marguerite spends her evenings enjoying dinner, activities, bingo and plenty of time with her neighbors. When asked what she’s most proud of, her answer is just as simple: “My children.”

Please join us in wishing Marguerite a very happy 100th birthday!

We started the 2026-2027 school year off with partnerships between our communities and local schools. Our residents find so much joy in giving back and in passing on their wisdom to future generations.

What an awesome way to get involved and give back. We can't wait to see what connections this year-long program brings.

We’re proud to celebrate Holiday Niagara Village for receiving the prestigious Q Award for outstanding quality and service.

This recognition is awarded to communities that achieve Quality Enhancement scores of 90% or higher, reflecting excellence across operations, hospitality, dining and resident experience. This year, Niagara Village earned an impressive overall score of 93%.

These achievements reflect the dedication of community teams who work every day to create welcoming, vibrant places residents are proud to call home. We’re also grateful to the residents and families who help make each community so special.

Kicking off the Fall season by making personal wreaths to hang on their doors. They all turned out so lovely!

"I want to live here forever," says Arlene, a self-proclaimed newbie to Holiday Simi Hills.
"It's so friendly here. In the elevator, someone will say, 'oh, are you new?' – and introduce themselves and start talking." Arlene is living at Holiday Simi Hills to be closer to her daughter and to help out with her granddaughter. The plan was to live in the community for a year and then head back to her house on the coast. But things might change, according to Arlene.

"I hope the man who's renting my place for a year wants to stay longer, or even buy it. This is like being on a cruise. You go to your cabin, you eat in the dining room and you have activities – the only thing you're missing is the water."

Grandparents' Day was stuffed with love! 🧸

Leading up to the celebration, grandchildren dropped off their favorite “stuffies” to stay with residents for the week. The stuffed friends joined in on fitness classes, book clubs and even community outings – and we captured it all in photos to share with their grandchildren.

On Grandparents' Day itself, families reunited for a bingo bash, picked up their stuffies and keepsake photo booklets, and enjoyed a chicken nugget and popsicle bar together.

It was a celebration of the love, laughter and the impact grandparents have on their families.

Our Great Tailgate Social Series event brought the ultimate game day vibes to our community! Residents gathered to enjoy tailgate classics, including walking nachos and a dirty soda bar.

The energy was high, the snacks were top-notch and the company was unbeatable. This event was definitely a touchdown for team spirit and community connection! 🏈🎉

“I don’t give up," shares Nancy, who has taken the step challenge at Holiday Maple Suites very seriously.

Nancy beat the record, walking every day for 125 days, helping the community hit ten million steps since March! Her motivation to keep going was more than just her competitive spirit. "I look forward to every step, and every little step helps me."

After recovering from an illness, she knew she had to be dedicated to reach her goal. "These steps are helping, and I am not quitting. I'm getting my daily movement in and enjoying it!

Great work, Nancy; keep it up!

"I like people," shares Vonnie, a resident at Holiday Bridge Park, who has always had a gift for bringing people together.

From working at the 1962 Seattle World’s Fair to spending more than three decades in the restaurant industry, Vonnie has always loved meeting people and making connections. Today she brings that same warmth and enthusiasm to community life – enjoying exercise classes, bingo, reading and getting to know her neighbors.

She especially loves the community’s library and the many opportunities to get out and explore together. “I’m not bashful about mixing in or talking to people,” she adds.

We’re grateful to have Vonnie’s energy, humor and love of people at Bridge Park! ❤️

For nearly 18 years, Janie has lived at Holiday Willow Grove – in fact, she was one of the very first residents to call it home.

Over the years, she’s joined picnics, bus rides, meetings and countless activities, watched team members grow into new roles and witnessed the community become part of so many chapters of life. One thing hasn’t changed: Janie still wouldn’t want to live anywhere else.

“I'm still comfortable here. I wouldn't move somewhere else, even if I could.”

Today, Janie especially treasures breakfast with her neighbors and the church services and Bible study that have been part of the community since the beginning.

After nearly two decades, her perspective says it best: “I can count on the people here.”

This past week our residents got to tap into their creative side and make something tie-dye of their own. Most have grown up with it, but never made one of their own. They are all very happy and proud of how they turned out so beautiful! They all did a wonderful job!

Surf’s up! We enjoyed fresh beachy bites at our Taste of SoCal events.

We enjoyed French onion dip served with Ruffles potato chips, followed by California Cobb salad served with a whole wheat roll and Dole Whip for dessert!

To top it off, we watched a modern Hollywood classic, La La Land!

We can't wait to see – and taste – the cuisine from our destination next month!

Meet Zella and Darlene, new friends who met by chance in the dining room at Hidden Lakes, a Holiday by Atria senior living community. The two have been best friends ever since.

Zella and Darlene are frequently together in the dining room, attending community events and playing Rummikub. They have easy conversations and are grateful to have someone they know they can count on when then need help, advice or simply someone to listen.

Their advice for being a good friend? Always be honest because trust is the hardest thing to gain back once it’s lost.

Lee has a special place in his Heart for Hidden Lakes even since before he became a resident about half a year ago. Back in his working days before he retired, he use to work right here in the kitchen as a Prep Cook for 17 years. He was known as "The Cookie Man" by all the residents who lived here during his career.
This past Thursday was a very special day for him that he had been looking forward to all month. Right after lunch he went to his room and got all of his cooking outfit on. His chefs hat that he still has from when he worked here, a shirt that was made for him as a present when he worked here, and his favorite cooking apron. Lee spent the afternoon baking his famous cookies to share with all of his friend here. He made M & M cookies, Snicker Doodle, Peanut Butter, and Double Chocolate Chip.
The whole building could smell the sweet aroma coming from the community kitchen! Anyone who walked in the kitchen to see who was creating such a devein smell, Lee would right away ask if they wanted to try any a cookie. The joy on his face while he shared the story behind his cookies was priceless!
We are so happy Lee chose to make this community his home and that he still gets to share his love of making cookies to this day!

Today we celebrated Atria's 30th year anniversary with our Pearls of Wisdom Celebration. Residents got to write down some advice to pass along for others to read. In return we gave them a pearl to keep. They all really enjoyed sharing their wisdom and excited to see what others also said.

Life’s a carnival, so enjoy the ride! The memories are worth the ticket and the residents here at Hidden Lakes used every one they had to win prizes! We had sweet treats and carnival beats as well. Another great event that the residents will remember and continue talking about for months to come. We always appreciate and thank all the help from the staff, resident ambassadors and of the other residents for making this event a succuss!
