🦅 “I Still Circle Above Your Fields…”

But the silence below grows louder.
The pyramid that once sustained life beneath my wings is crumbling.

🌍 The Science of Silence:

3 billion birds vanished from North America since 1970 — that’s nearly 1 in 3 gone.

Insects, the planet’s foundation, have fallen by 75% in just 50 years.

Songbird nests fail 40% more often — their chicks starve without insects.

Raptors like me need 2–3 small birds every day to survive.

One chemical-treated lawn wipes out 80% of its insects in 48 hours.

🪶 My Place in the Chain:
I am the red-tailed hawk, your sky guardian — a natural pest controller saving over $10 billion in crops each year.
But I rely on songbirds…
Songbirds rely on insects…

And insects rely on you.

💀 When You Spray, You Break the Chain:
Neonicotinoids → Insects die → Songbirds vanish → Raptors decline.
Your perfect lawn is a biological desert.
A native meadow, though wild and untamed, hums with life — 100+ insect species, 20+ bird species, and a sky alive again.

🌱 How You Can Rebuild the Balance:

Plant native wildflowers — they grow beauty and biodiversity.

Leave 30% of your yard unmowed — for the bees, for the earth.

Say no to neonicotinoids — their poison lingers for years.

Make your windows bird-safe — save a billion lives a year.

Connect your green spaces — let insects and birds travel freely.

When the insects return, the songs return.
And when the songs return… I will too.

Let the earth sing again — so I have something to hunt. 🕊️

Yes, its that time of year if you can believe it.
