A big THANK YOU to St Simons UMC for collecting food for Sparrow's Nest during their VBS last week. Over 450 items were brought in and while the girls might have been the winner of their competition, we can agree that we are all winners when we come together to serve our community!

Who has been a spiritual mentor or inspiration in your life?
-Our former pastor and his wife, Bill and Rena Henderson

Are you involved in any ministries or groups? If so, which ones?
-Darrell is in choir and I am a member of the Sunshine Circle. 

What’s a favorite memory you’ve had here?
-Easter egg hunts with our family.

How has this church impacted your life?
-Given us a wonderful Church Family.

What’s a fun fact about you two that most people don’t know?
- We love theater, travel, and fly fishing. 

We are on a 2 month RV trip and will be back the first of August. We really love SSUMC and look forward to seeing all of our friends when we return.

Over 60 kids, 40+ amazing volunteers, countless smiles, and more than 300 food items donated to Sparrow’s Nest!
This week our children learned that God is our Creator, God knows everything, God is our safe place, God is love, and God is forever.
Thank you to everyone who made VBS such a special week. We are grateful for every child, volunteer, family, and prayer that helped make it possible.

What inspires you to keep growing in your relationship with God?
- As Jim and I grow in a deeper relationship with God, we continue to see more opportunities to serve others. As we seek God’s guidance, He continually reveals ways for us to better serve Him by being of maximum service to our community.

How has this church impacted your life or faith?
- From the moment we arrived in March 2022, this church has led us into a deeper walk of faith. We have developed meaningful spiritual connections through our Sunday School class and have grown both personally and spiritually through the relationships and opportunities to serve.

What’s your favorite part of Sunday mornings?
- Our favorite part of Sunday mornings is attending “The Class” at 8:30 a.m. and then heading to the contemporary worship service. We especially enjoy serving in ministry roles on the second Sunday of each month and being actively involved in the life of the church.
