Wishing a very happy Father’s Day to our unofficial Righton Books “shop dad,”
Jim Barger Jr — and to all of the fathers, grandfathers, and father figures who share their love of reading with the next generation. Whether you’re making a unique voice for each character in a bedtime story, sharing time on the couch with a child and his stack of library books, or listening intently to a detailed description of the latest YA plot line, we salute all of the fathers and hope you have a wonderful day!

In celebration of Juneteenth, we are proud to support community events hosted by our local nonprofits. We also are humbled by the enthusiasm our customers have shown for the book titles featured in our Juneteenth display, which we’ve had to replenish multiple times! We have a few more titles left — and we will continue to re-order and keep the shelves stocked with books that elaborate on this central moment in our nation’s history.

We loved receiving this email and photo in response to our June newsletter: “Sorry I can’t join you for the events. I’m in Nepal this week but representing Righton.”
Where are you and your Righton purchases headed this summer? Send us pics and let us live vicariously!

Thanks for the big turnout for our friend and editor Jim Windolf yesterday — it was especially great to have another legendary music writer James Calemine show up and swap rock ‘n roll stories (can’t wait for Calemine’s forthcoming book about ) with Jim and Righton’s own in-house author and other “Jim” ! We made sure to get plenty of extra authographed copies of Where the Music Had to Go for those of you who weren’t in town— as always, autographed copies available on our website with free shipping or in-store pick up the next time you “get back” to the the island (sorry about the pun). Good luck in the member/guest this weekend —hope y’all win!
