🎣🏆 New women’s state record on the line! 🏆🎣

The Coastal Resources Division of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources has certified a new women’s state saltwater angling record—and it’s a big one! 💪🐟

👏 Congratulations to Chandler Simon of Atlanta, who landed a 3 lb., 6 oz. Florida pompano while fishing Christmas Creek in Camden County on Nov. 25, 2025. That catch officially breaks the previous women’s record set in 2023! 🎉

Chandler was fishing aboard a charter with Capt. Jeremy Petro of Island Lure Charters and sealed the deal using live shrimp 🦐—proof that patience (and good bait!) pays off.

📜 To celebrate the achievement:
• Chandler will receive a state record certificate signed by Gov. Brian Kemp, DNR Commissioner Walter Rabon, and CRD Director Doug Haymans
• Her name will appear in the Georgia Hunting and Fishing Regulations Guide
• And she’ll be listed on CRD’s state saltwater records webpage for as long as the record stands 🏅

Wanted to give a congratulations shout out to Chandler Simon for setting the new GA. Women's State record while fishing with me .
This family has been fishing with me and my business for many years , almost from the very start of it all .
She was accepted into University Of Georgia just a couple of days before setting the new record .
This young lady had a bunch to be thankful for this Thanksgiving .
What a GREAT week she had .
Could not of happened to a more deserving young lady .
I feel very blessed to know this family and be a part of such a special catch for her .
