COMPAS is a nationally-recognized provider of arts education programs that power imaginations, learning and life.

COMPAS (Community Programs in the Arts) helps connect individuals through the arts. COMPAS Teaching Artists provide residencies, workshops and performances to communities throughout Minnesota. We work at schools, community and recreation centers, hospitals, clinics, festivals, senior centers and much more. In addition, COMPAS youth programs provide opportunities for young people to gain valuable arts and employment skills each summer!

Young poets. Real impact. Our My Voice. My Time! Spoken Word Showcase was a powerful night of youth-created and performed Spoken Word poetry.

Check out our new blog post that recaps the event. https://www.compas.org/2026/06/youth-got-something-to-say-we-should-listen/

Then head to the showcase webpage to watch the performances (link to it in the blog).

We're still not over this night.

The video from the 2026 Emerging Young Artists Award Show is here. Hit play and see what happens when young artists are given the tools, the space, and the encouragement to share what's inside them.

We're honored to be part of their journey, and so grateful to the Saint Paul Jaycees Charitable Foundation for their incredible gift. (Watch the video to learn about it!)
