The big idea is to create Minnesota's first African-American, cultural enterprise District connected by a community Land bridge. This will not only repair, but also restore and revitalize Rondo. It will help reverse racial disparity gaps in Minnesota once and for all. We must make a difference for a community that has lost so much.

Join us in building a bridge to better.

ReConnect Rondo was honored to join community members, families, partners, and local leaders at the Juneteenth Celebration at the Rondo Commemorative Plaza.

Juneteenth is a time to celebrate freedom, reflect on our shared history, and honor the resilience, achievements, and contributions of Black communities. It was inspiring to see neighbors come together in a space that holds such deep significance to the legacy of Rondo.

Events like these remind us that preserving history, strengthening community connections, and investing in future generations are all essential parts of the work ahead.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to connect with us and to the organizers, volunteers, performers, and vendors who helped make the celebration possible.

Together, we continue building a future rooted in remembrance, restoration, and opportunity.

For more than 70 years, the Rondo community has lived with the lasting impacts of I-94. Today, we have a once-in-a-generation opportunity to study solutions that could reconnect neighborhoods, restore community connections, and create new opportunities for future generations.

MnDOT is currently evaluating four alternatives for the corridor, and all four could accommodate a land bridge.

Moving forward with this process means continuing the research, community engagement, and planning needed to make informed decisions about the future of Rondo and the entire corridor.
