Stuber Health Center turns 113 today, and we marked the occasion by cutting the ribbon on our new point of care lab program. A heartfelt thank you to the United Way of Greater St. Joseph for funding this program, and to Heart to Heart International for providing the implementation and training support that brought it to life. Our patients can now get diagnostic results during a single visit, right here at the clinic.

This is what happens when a community truly cares about its neighbors. We could not agree more.

Here is to 113 years, and many more to come.

"I can function well now and I am happy." πŸ’š

Those are Tom's words. And they mean everything to us. Tom came to Stuber Health Center after years of struggling with his health. In just 2Β½ years, our team helped him solve 12 out of 13 health challenges. He credits Edna, who first noticed him limping and pointed him in the right direction. Ana and Mary, whose kindness and generosity he will never forget. Danielle, who worked tirelessly by his side. And Dr. McMillen, who he says simply saved his life.

When Tom thanked our team, he had tears in his eyes. Joyful tears. This is why we show up every day. This is why your support matters.

If you have been putting off your health, let Tom's story be your sign. We are here. πŸ’š

Over 112 years later, that place is still here. Today we call it Stuber Health Center. And every single day, our doors open for the uninsured teacher's aide who can't afford her blood pressure medication. For the father working two jobs with no health benefits who just needs a check-up. For the grandmother who hasn't seen a dentist in years because she simply couldn't afford it. We don't turn people away. We never have.

But to keep showing up for this community, we need your help.
A gift of $15 covers a diabetes test.
A gift of $20 pays for a dental cleaning.
A gift of $50 funds a cancer screening for someone who couldn't otherwise afford it.
A gift of $125 gives someone access to trauma therapy and a counseling session.

Dr. Morton started this with a belief that quality health care should be available to everyone. Will you help us carry that forward? Donate today at stuberhealthcenter.org/donate

We are so grateful to the Schmidt Foundation for their generous $20,000 grant to Stuber Health Center. This funding will go a long way in helping us spread the word about the services we offer AND free up resources to directly enhance patient care, from free medications for uninsured patients to lab supplies and transportation support.

As Dr. Latha Varghese shared, our goal is to reach more people across St. Joseph and beyond. Because everyone deserves access to quality healthcare, regardless of income or insurance status.

Thank you, Schmidt Foundation, for believing in our mission. Together, we are making a difference. πŸ’™
