Build -A- Quilt

Come join us this Saturday, 9 to 2. We will be teaching how to make this wonderful door hanger, just in time for our Country's 250th birthday bash... call Build A Quilt at 816-273-5056 to register.

Come join us next Saturday, June 13th, 9am to 2pm. We will have Christmas in July on July 18th. Several gift projects are available for you to make..

Come join us May 16th, 9am -2pm, and we'll teach how to make pillows, pillow cases and/or pillow shams. Cost of the class is $30. Includes fabric, batting, backing, and if your making the pillow, we have polyfill. If you prefer, you can bring your own pillow form. Call to reserve your place.

We are looking forward to the many flowers as a result of these recent showers.

Our classes are becoming increasingly popular, so we are trying to do two classes per
month. In April, we will be hosting a class to create a Bucket Hat and another class to
create a jacket from a quilt. In May, we are looking at classes to make a Pillow from scraps
and another Utility Bag (back by popular demand).

So for April, here’s what we have.

Bucket Hat

Hey Build A Quilt Fans,
we are preparing for our February Class. we will be hosting a class to create an apron and matching oven mitt. Class will be on Saturday, February 21st, 9am till 2 pm.
We have a refrigerator and microwave available if you would like to bring your own lunch. There are also several restaurants in the area.

Cost of class is $35.00 and covers your fabric kit, studio fees and instructions. please come in the shop during normal business hours to pick out your fabrics and register for class. space and equipment are limited so hurry in to reserve your spot. it would be greatly appreciated if you bring your own machine and tools. (ie scissors, pins, clips, thread, etc).

Cost of the class:
$50.00 which will include all supplies needed to complete the bag and studio fees. The price will be reduced to $45.00 if the patron is participating in the monthly studio fees.
Or, $5.00 to cover the studio fees and the patron brings their own supplies.

Fabric 1 (Bag, Handles, Lining) - 1 3/8 yd 45" wide cotton
Fabric 2 (Pockets) - 7/8 yd 45" wide cotton
Fabric 3 (Bands) - ¼ yd 45" wide cotton
Interfacing 1 - 2 3/8 yd 20" Sew-In Extra-Firm Craft Weight
Interfacing 2 - 7/8 yd 20" Sew-In Craft Weight
13"x7" piece of cardboard
1 Magnetic Snap (optional)

Requirements:
Bear - 5/8 yd fabric
Vest- 3/8 yd fabric
Contrast collar - 1/4 yd fabric
Trim braid- 1 5/8 of 1/2 wide
18 Oz. Polyester fiber fill
Eyes and nose- buttons
You can also use a collared shirt for your bear, or mix & match fat quarters of your choice. We will have button eyes and noses on hand if you need them.

Build A Quilt will be closed tomorrow 11/22/2025 for a Family Members Funeral. Sorry for any inconvenience. we will return on Wednesday 11/26/2025.

Build A Quilt will be hosting the Jacket Class Saturday, November 8 from 9 to noon. Supplies needed are a full/twin quilt top and sweatshirt 2 sizes larger than needed to allow for fitting.

Build A Quilt will be having the Jelly Roll placemat or rug class Saturday October 25 beginning at 9 to noon. List of supplies needed are:
2.5" Jelly Roll OR 2.5" strips width of fabric (WOF), 42 strips each.
2.5" Bias tool (if you have one)
