Days for Girls St George UT Chapter
What if lack of feminine hygiene kept you in your room for days? No school for days. No income, for days. We can change that!
Days for Girls is turning periods into pathways. We increase access to menstrual care and education by developing global partnerships, cultivating Social Entrepreneurs, mobilizing volunteers and innovating sustainable solutions that shatter stigma and limitations for women and girls.

DFG OPEN SEW: Wednesday, May 13, 10:30 am- 1:00 pm at Fab Fabrics. (87 E. 2580 S.) This is a week earlier than usual.
Please let me know:-- if you want to pick up components to work on by Monday evening, May 11.
I will be out of town (in Connecticut with my daughter and her family) until the evening of May 11, but I have done a lot of prep work so I should have components for everyone who wants them.
We WILL BE SEWING— please bring your machines again. Please let me know if you will bring a sewing machine or serger.
This is our last meeting until September!
My sisters and I will be attending the Panguitch Quiltwalk the second week in June. We always have a Days for Girls table and have the drawing for the yearly quilt. We usually do quite well on all donations.
I have a couple of Girls’ Camps for which I am providing materials for them to work on for service projects.
I can provide supplies if you want to work on things this summer, you just must be willing to work around my schedule with reunions and family events.
Important!
Fab Fabrics does require an electronic liability release form from everyone who attends our open sew or those who stop by to pick up supplies. The link is below if you need to fill it out. Please state that you are with Days for Girls.

********Some exciting things happened last month. I delivered over 18,500 components to the SLC DFG Resource Center! This included drawstring bags, carry pouches, liners, shield, Panties and washcloths and soap. Thanks to all of you for your hard work that made this possible. Read the thank you letter below*********
Hello St. George Team,
We are still talking about you over here, and honestly, we probably will be for a while.
You traveled over five hours to get here, and you brought 61 bags of Kit components, soap, and underwear. We now have 2 intake shelving units, filled to the brim at the Utah Collection Point. And you brought all of it at exactly the right moment. This month has been a hard one on the inventory side. Order requests have been coming in, and we've had to hold our breath more than once before saying yes. Because of what your Team contributed, we get to say YES. To more women and girls, right now, because of you!
That is not a small thing. That is everything!
Thank you for showing up so fully, so generously, and with such an unmistakable heart. The St. George team is a true gift to this mission, and we are so grateful to have you alongside us.
*****I replied:
This is such a wonderful note! I will share it with the chapter! Everyone was so excited that we were able to send so many components, as well as the 850 kits we finished, that will be delivered to South America next month.
I just saw the quality report and was so pleased that almost everything was Gold Standard. We have really been working on that. I’m so glad to see the work is paying off.
******Received this from them:
It makes my whole day to hear this kind of excitement from a Team leader! Please do share it with your chapter because they have genuinely earned it.
850 Kits heading to South America next month is no small thing. That is real, tangible impact, and it is happening because of the hands and hearts of your volunteers. We love knowing that those DfG Kits are already on their way to women and girls who need them. If you're able to get any photos from the distribution, we would absolutely love to see them! Pictures from the field are such a powerful reminder of why this work matters, and they help us tell that story to the broader DfG community, to donors, and to the volunteers who put so much of themselves into every Kit. It really does bring the whole journey full circle.
And the quality report! Honestly, almost everything Gold Standard on a contribution that size speaks volumes about the culture your Team has built. That kind of consistency doesn't just happen by accident. It comes from a leader who takes the time to teach well and a group of volunteers who care about getting it right. You should all be incredibly proud!
Thank you for being such a shining example of what this work looks like when it's done with love and intention. We are so grateful to have the St. George Team in the DfG family!

At our last open sew, a lady from one of the other groups came in to see our raffle quilt. She was so excited after I explained the mission of DfG. Turns out she works as a nurse at a domestic violence center. They serve a low economic population and often give them menstrual supplies. A small group of us put together 50 kits and sent them with her the next day. She was thrilled! It was amazing to serve a very needy group of women.
