Summer cherries. I’m pretty sure there was a cherry tree in a vacant lot in my neighborhood for years. The neighborhood girl gang would hang out there and see how many we could get. We were all pretty sad when they started building a house and leveled the lot taking out the tree. Can any neighbors verify? Anyone else remember this? Maybe we just thought they were cherries? Either way, summer + cherries go hand in hand. Check out my post on my shop page for more on this design and the others that go with it.

New spring florals for the shop.

We recently moved and I was excited to find pomegranate bushes on our new property. We didn’t get there in time to save many from the squirrels, but I gathered the split, fallen, and dried fruits to use as decor and they also inspired a new design. They are such great color and interesting shape—I just had to draw them. They are especially festive this time of year. ​​​​​​​​You can find this new design on notecards, gift wrap, and prints in the shop .

If you went back in time and peeked at any of my old school notes, this is what you'd see. Every margin of every page was filled with leafy shaped drawings. I haven't outgrown it and its still what comes out of my hand when I'm drawing freely. ​​​
