Client Highlight: Client H5 made the courageous decision to leave home after an ongoing conflict created an unhealthy living environment. Staying with friends and couch surfing only lasted for a limited amount of time. After being referred to WellSpace, she was referred to The Grove, where she says her personal journey began. During her 10 month stay, client H5 fully embraced the support available. She found strength through counseling and says she’s extremely grateful for “Ms Joy” (her Case Manager). The client began a volunteer to work program with the Goodwill and was eventually hired full-time! Working, studying, and growing emotionally paid off. She’s been accepted into a Health career program, which begins in the Fall. She’s completed all of her program at The Grove, and has just moved into her very own apartment! Congratulations!! Please help us in celebrating by leaving some words of encouragement.

When Resident M3 arrived at First Step Communities, he had been living without stable housing for years. The stress of daily survival had taken a toll on both his physical and mental health. Like many of our residents, he faced challenges that often go unseen—struggles with trauma, chronic health conditions, and the overwhelming uncertainty of where he would sleep each night.

With safe housing, supportive services, and access to healthcare, Resident M3 began rebuilding his life. Today, he has stability, hope, and a path forward.

This June, as we recognize Men’s Health Month, PTSD Awareness Month, Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness Month, and National Migraine & Headache Awareness Month, we invite you to stand alongside residents like Resident M3.
