🐶 ON THE GROUND IN NEW MEXICO 🐶 RedRover.org/SupplyDrive

Since 2024 we’ve built more than 57 safe enclosures for outdoor family dogs on the Navajo Nation in New Mexico– and now we’re back for one of the most important parts of outreach: continuing to offer resources and support. For the RedRover Responders team, it’s important for us to show up, prioritize building trust in the communities that we work in, and focus on growing our relationships with the people we’ve helped.

Over the past few weeks we’ve been chatting with families about how their pups are doing and what needs fixin’. Whether it’s new tarps, toys, or canopies, we’re here for three days for repairs. With a waitlist of more than 30 families and dogs in need, we’re also going door-to-door to plan our next fence builds for the fall. In this community, fencing keeps beloved dogs safe, and we are thrilled to be making a difference in their lives!

This Juneteenth, RedRover joins the nation in celebrating freedom, community, and the power of love. ✊🏾✨

As we reflect on the historical significance of this day, we also celebrate the profound, unconditional bonds that tie families and their pets together — because everyone deserves a safe, supportive, and inclusive space to thrive. 🐾❤

In honor of the holiday, our office will be closed on Friday, June 19. Please note that our digital responses will be delayed and will return to normal operations on Monday. Thank you so much for your patience, your kindness, and your continued support. Happy Juneteenth! 🌈

🐾 THAT’S A WRAP IN ARIZONA! 🐾 RedRover.org/SupplyDrive

Over three days on the Navajo Nation, our RedRover Responders volunteers assisted our friends at The Parker Project with another successful pet wellness clinic! Together, we helped so many cats and dogs receive the spay/neuter and vaccination services they needed. 🐱🐶

We are already looking forward to returning this fall to help even more pet families. If you want to support community events like this one, you can make a huge difference right now by donating to our Supplies Drive! Your kindness ensures we always have the resources ready to extend a helping hand to pets in need. ❤

You’re invited to sponsor a beloved pet at our upcoming July clinic and ensure they remain happy, healthy, and with the families who love them! 🩺 🐾RedRover.org/SupplyDrive

Next month, our RedRover Responders teams are heading to Vermont for a FREE Community Programs event. We are looking for 50 kind, animal-loving people to step up and sponsor a local cat or dog to ensure no family has to be turned away.

Your vital aid will directly supply a pet with essential vaccines, flea and tick prevention, pet food, or a spay and neuter surgery.

Because of supporters like you, our team was able to help more than 2,500 pets at our community events last year. Right now, pet families are anxiously awaiting our arrival in July — will you help us give the gift of good health and happiness to one more loving family? ❤️‍🩹

🐺 THAT’S A WRAP IN WASHINGTON 🐺

We’re so grateful we could help Greater Good Charities in renovating and improving facilities at Wolf Haven International for American Red Wolves, Mexican wolves, and gray wolves. American Red Wolves are the most critically endangered canid species on the planet, with fewer than 30 individuals estimated to remain in the wild. Over five days our RedRover Responders team helped to install a massive specialized 8-foot-tall fence, enclosing approximately .60 acres of habitat. This extensive fencing included burying it three feet underground for dig prevention as well as a three-foot overhand to prevent climbing.

RedRover President and CEO Katie Campbell said, “Participating in this conservation effort to protect endangered wolves is an honor. Wolf Haven International’s dedication to preserving wolves and their habitat is commendable, and we are proud to support their sanctuary.”

Meet Hattie, our RedRover Relief Urgent Care grantee of the week! 🐾❤

Nine-year-old Hattie is a service dog, a best friend, and a true lifesaver for her pet parent, who relies on her for comfort and security.

Their world was turned upside down when a cyst on Hattie's chest tested positive for breast cancer cells, requiring an urgent mastectomy. Her pet parent couldn't afford the sudden cost of surgery alone — until RedRover supporters stepped in to bridge the gap.

Thanks to you, Hattie got her surgery! Her pet parent said: “Thank you so much for helping me afford Hattie's surgery!!”

Veterinary crises should never break the bond between service animals and the people who need them. Your support can help another family stay together through a medical emergency.

Donate today to help families just like Hattie’s: 👉 RedRover.org/Relief

Happy Take Your Cat to Work Day! 🐾💻

Whether they are deleting important spreadsheets by walking across the keyboard, sleeping on the job, or constantly demanding a promotion (in the form of treats), our feline companions make the absolute best colleagues.

Today, we are celebrating by featuring a few of our very own hard-working RedRover staff cats and kittens! From checking our emails to supervising coffee breaks, they keep our home offices running purr-fectly. 🐱

We know our staff can't be the only ones with excellent assistant managers. We want to see your furry co-workers! Are they currently feline lazy on your lap, or are they hard at work staring at the printer?

👇 Drop a photo of your office cat in the comments below and tell us their job title!

This Animal Rights Awareness Week, we are looking back at our roots and celebrating how far the animal welfare movement has come! 🐾❤️

Before we were RedRover, our organization was founded in 1987 as United Animal Nations (UAN). In those early days, our founders and early advocates took on a wide range of global animal rights and cruelty issues — standing up against elephant poaching, horse slaughter, and whaling, while fighting for humane treatment for animals in research and entertainment.

From advocating on the very first Fur Free Fridays to pioneering emergency animal relief during major historic disasters, United Animal Nations helped lay the foundational groundwork for the protections animals have today.

While our name changed to RedRover in 2011 to better reflect our active, hands-on field deployments, that same fierce dedication to protecting the vulnerable and speaking up for those who cannot speak for themselves remains at the core of everything we do.

Today, we carry that legacy forward by helping companion animals escape crisis, supporting domestic violence survivors and their pets, and fostering empathy in the next generation. Thank you for being part of our history — and our future! 🐶🐱

It only takes a few minutes for a parked car to become dangerously hot for a pet. 🌞🐾❌

In the demonstration, when it was just 77 degrees outside, the temperature inside the vehicle reached a scorching 98 degrees in only ten minutes. At 90 degrees outside, the car seat temperature skyrocketed to 161 degrees.

Dogs cannot handle heat the way humans do. Because they do not sweat, a dog trapped inside a hot vehicle will quickly experience severe distress, which can rapidly lead to permanent organ damage or even death. Cracking the windows does not help keep the car cool. If you are heading out to run errands or go shopping, the kindest and safest choice you can make is to leave your beloved four-legged family members safe at home.

If you see a dog left alone in a vehicle and they are not showing signs of distress, you can leave an educational flyer on the windshield to remind the owner of the danger. However, if the dog is in distress, please call 911 immediately.
