The Ecology School offers a variety of immersive educational camps & programs for kids, families, and adults at our sustainable River Bend Farm campus on the Saco River in Saco, Maine. Through hands-on, experiential programs, The Ecology School inspires stewardship of and connection to the natural world through experiential learning in ecology, conservation, farming, and sustainability.

We’re back with another Farm Friday!
The team took a little rest on a comfy pile of tarps after removing them from the cover crops, got back to planting, planting, and more planting, admired a gorgeous harvest & baby birds! 🩵🪺

Calling all teachers! Our partners at The Climate Initiative are hosting their 6th Annual Climate Educators Retreat July 27 through August 1 in S**o, Maine. Three days/four nights of immersive professional development, lodging, and farm-fresh meals — all included. Registration is just $75 for pre-service teachers and $200 for experienced educators. Come build your climate confidence and leave with real tools for your classroom.

Have you had a chance to walk the Mary Merrill Trail on our campus? This out-and-back trail is open to the public (even though our campus is private) and takes you through fields & forest eventually ending at a scenic overlook of the S**o River.
A volunteer recently built these beautiful birdhouses to line the trail through the field. We love witnessing all the bird activity, especially this time of year!
