The next two instruments that will be available in about 90 days. One is Redwood/Rosewood standard octave, and the other one is a cittern with Cedar/Rosewood, both excellent tone combinations. 22 3/4" scale on the octave, full 251/4" on the cittern.
It's been a while since I built a 5 course model, but when I got the body put together, it was so nice and deep that I couldn't help but to proceed. I am anxious to hear it. Both instruments have a bloodwood face plate and herringbone rosette. Mahogany necks, ebony fingerboard and bridge. Grover mini-rotomatics.

Seasons Greetings from Beard Instruments, and thanks for another great year full of cool customers. The expanding world of music is a gratifying thing to be involved in.
We usually have a traffic jam in the summer at the Washington St. shop, but it's midwinter for now. I have a couple of instruments still available on reverb.com at the Beardinstruments site for last minute shoppers.......
Next year will see a number of dulcimers in a variety of species, some with added frets (yes, I'm finally not a totally traditional builder, but I understand the need of players) realizing that the 6 1/2 was being incorporated in my time. I'm finally cutting into my stash of Port Orford cedar for tops, and the first one will be in this batch.
I will also have a couple of standard octave mandolins, a guitar octave (red spruce/figured walnut) an OM style guitar (outrageously figured bearclaw spruce/cocobolo) and perhaps more standard model and guitar model zouks. Looking forward to providing the vehicles for your musical endeavors and aspirations.

I had the rare privilege of playing with "Mighty J and the Fenians" at the reception for Rhiannon Giddens new series on PBS entitled "Ireland" in Flat Rock NC. Another stellar production from Will and Deni, and a lovely time was had by all. We are looking forward to the airing
