It is with great sadness that Chief Russo announces the passing of retired Rutherford Police Officer Russell Snyder Sr. Officer Snyder was hired by the Rutherford Police Department on October 3, 1972. He protected and served this great community for over 30 years, retiring on July 1st, 2003. After retirement, he continued his life of service to Rutherford by becoming a beloved School Marshal. He will be greatly missed by his family, his friends, our police department, and the community he so proudly served.

The Rutherford Police Department will display our mourning bunting for the next 30 days in his honor. Please join the members of the Rutherford Police Department in keeping Officer Snyder Sr. and his family in your thoughts and prayers.

World Cup venues and fan festivals are No Drone Zones.

Safety is our goal. Every fan, every match.

A massive multi-layered security plan that includes advanced
anti-drone technology is in place to protect fans.

There will be severe consequences for reckless, careless, or criminal drone use, including fines upwards of $100,000, criminal charges, incarceration, and the confiscation of your drone.

So please, leave your drone at home!

Today, the Rutherford Police Department proudly participated in the 43rd annual New Jersey Law Enforcement Torch Run. Our officers carried the "Flame of Hope" from our border to East Rutherford all the way to our border with Lyndhurst. This event is designed to raise funds and awareness for the New Jersey Special Olympics.

A special thank you to all of you who generously supported this event, and to our amazing high school students who ran by our side.
