November is National Diabetes Month!
Let's talk about Prediabetes.
Prediabetes is a serious health condition where your blood sugar levels are higher than normal, but not high enough yet to be diagnosed as type 2 diabetes. According to the CDC, more than 1 in 3 U.S. adults have prediabetes—that’s 88 million people—but the majority of people don’t know they have it.
Follow these tips to help manage and even reverse your prediabetes:
• Start with small changes to your lifestyle.
• Move more.
• Consume healthier foods and drinks.
• Lose weight and keep it off.
• Seek health support from your doctor.
• Stay up to date on vaccinations.

Next up on our provider spot light is Edwina “Wina” Eley!
Wina is from Winnsboro, has been a nurse for 12 years, and has been a Family nurse practitioner for 6 years. She joined our team just over a year ago and sees patients at our School-Based clinic and at our Tensas clinic.
One of Wina’s passions is educating her patients on overall health and disease prevention. Working with students as the Tensas Parish School Nurse is one of the ways she helps bring her passion into focus. She finds joy in teaching students how to live a healthy lifestyle which in turn will help prevent chronic diseases later in life. We are so fortunate to have her on our team!
